How would you feel if you were invited to a Monday reception?

One of the venues I'm in love with is only available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. My FH and I are considering the Monday of Memorial Day weekend (the last weekend in May) as a possible date, but are afraid people will be put off by the day, even though most will have off from work. What do you think?

I actually went to a Monday wedding on Labor Day Weekend. The ceremony was at 12 and the reception started at 2. It was very nice. I really recommend sending save the date cards though

I actually was invited to a Monday wedding in the middle of January (no holiday weekend). Because the wedding is at night (and probably will end in the early morning hours), I have to take the next day off. I get up around 5:45 am for work so there is no way I can work the next day (especially with 150 high school students!). Because I knew ahead of time, I am able to get the day off (and in the meantime, not taking any days off).

The way I see it, if they love you, they'll come no matter what! So go for it.

At first I thought .... that might be strange??? But as I really started to think about it... it really doesn't matter - actually the fact that it's a holiday makes it even better...same thing as a Sunday really.

I'm getting married on Monday 5/31/04 (Memorial Day) in the evening. A lot of my friends and family had mixed feelings about it at first but it really is just like a Sunday. I believe that anyone who wants to be there, will be.
My mom keeps telling me people like to go away during that weekend. My thoughts are.. it's considered the first summer weekend..but it's not the last and you can go away from Friday to Monday and still make it to the wedding. I'm sending out save the date cards during the holidays next year so hopefully not too many people will have plans.
You just have to do what makes the both of you happy. It's your day no matter what day of the week.
