Well happpy hump day everyone!! Count down to the weekend!!!
I know one of the potential 'superlatives' for the 2010 bridal shower is best engagement story...and we all have cute, wonderful engagement stories....but with that being said...
***if you could change some thing about the proposal, what would it be? or if you envisioned being proposed to in a certain way, what was it?****
For me, the one biggest thing i would change is how i looked! FH popped the question the weekend before we were set to leave for Italy. Now, usually, before a big trip I do all the primming and take care of myself (nails, eye brows, etc etc)...but before that, well, lets just say i let myself go...
So, when FH popped the question I was wearing clothes that I have worn before (saving all new, cute outfits for italy), my eyebrows looked a wreck, and overall i just didnt look/feel cute.
I always pictured being asked over a romantic dinner wearing a new outfit and looking good. So, yeah, i was surprised. lol. I just really wish i looked better that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

absolutely nothing! It was perfect. Even down to him being so nervous that he dropped the ring.

I would not have been yelling at him to get out of my room and let me sleep before he was going to propose lol

I think I would have liked to have had my hair and not been wearing a wig but we were only 3 months post chemo at that point so we would still be waiting. Other than that he did a great job.

if i could change they way fh asked me. i would def say i would of wanted fh to get down on one knee. we went to dinner weith our parents and he put it in my plate and when i came back from the bathrrom, he said so dee u wanna. and i laughed and said yes. no romantic but i guess it was in his way.

I would have FH actually get down on one knee.......he never did. But I shouldn't have expected him to anyway.....he's not that type.
Oh and I probably wouldn't have called him 'stupid' during it When he took the ring out of the box, he went to put it on my finger.....my RIGHT ring finger I looked at him and said 'Wrong hand stupid '
Yea, we love each other......can't you tell?????
ETA: I also would've taken pictures that night.....we didn't take any pictures together because he did it at like 11pm and there was no one around to take pics of us

The ONLY thing I would change is that I wish he would've told some people in my family that he was doing it-at least my sister, because she would've wanted to be there (we went ice skating and he proposed on the ice)...

but with that said... no, he could have texted me and asked me... i didnt really care! lol and its weird that people keep asking me how he did it...

I would of like it to have been a few months earlier but he surprised me and it was perfect! even when he dropped the ring in the middle of it when he was down on one knee.

as much as it was very us the way he asked me - all awkward and trembling and stumbly, I would've loved that for once in both of our lived we had more flare. if FH went down on one knee and said 'you're the love of my life, you're my sunshine, will you marry me?' this would've been awesome. but then again that isn't us and will never be, so I love the dorky way he did it! that's why I love him

The only thing I would change was that we were alone (which I wanted) but I would have loved to have atleast a pic or two of the actual proposal.....other than that, it was perfect!

thats exactly what i was going to say. I LOVED the proposal and wouldn't change anything about it other than wishing I had some pics of it!

I came home from Happy Hour & was laying on the floor in our living room (not quite sure why I was on the floor )...watching The Dark Knight on TV haha. FH came and laid down next to me & was being so weird! Then he said, 'Do you want me to wait until you're not drunk?' I started crying & said NOOO, then he said, 'Do I still have to get down on one knee if I am already laying down next to you? Be right back.' Then he went & got the ring then got down on one knee. Lol...couldn't he of had the ring WHILE he asked me?! But that's him
ETA: AND I WISH I HAD PICS TOO!!!

Your FH must've taken pointers from my FH! After he put the ring on the right finger, he looked at me and said.......'So you wanna???'

I know this is gonna sounds cliche and corny... but honest to God I wouldn't change a THING! It was everything I dreamed it would be. Although we were in front of 2000 people I didn't see anyone but FH for those few minutes he asked. It was truley the best moment of my life.
That it would have been a surprise - I already knew...

The day itself was perfect. FH proposed on Thanksgiving...granted I wish that I wasn't a tad bit hungover though (we went out on Thanksgiving Eve) lol. The only thing I would have changed would have been the night before...FH and FSIL ended up getting in to a huge fight, and then I got dragged in to it, which ended up being an arguement with FH and I (not a good thing when drunk lol). Well, when we woke up the next morning I will still kinda po'd - but FH jumped out of bed all happy and giddy, said it was a new day, and to forget about everything. I was in shock. Little did I know that he was going to propose that afternoon (of which the whole family knew)!

THE FACT THAT I KNEW HE WAS GOING TO DO IT BECAUSE AT THE TIME, I HAD A BIG MOUTH FRIEND WHO (GET THIS!) THOUGHT SHE WAS DOING ME A FREAKING FAVOR BY TELLING ME!!!!
Yes, apparently I still harbor a TON of bad feelings about this! He actually found out that I knew, so he was able to work around it and that helped a lot, but still.... I never would have known it was coming either, that's the worst part.
Anyway!!!! I'm happy, so that's the most important part and I have since stopped talking to Big Mouth
