Well happpy hump day everyone!! Count down to the weekend!!!
I know one of the potential 'superlatives' for the 2010 bridal shower is best engagement story...and we all have cute, wonderful engagement stories....but with that being said...
***if you could change some thing about the proposal, what would it be? or if you envisioned being proposed to in a certain way, what was it?****
For me, the one biggest thing i would change is how i looked! FH popped the question the weekend before we were set to leave for Italy. Now, usually, before a big trip I do all the primming and take care of myself (nails, eye brows, etc etc)...but before that, well, lets just say i let myself go...
So, when FH popped the question I was wearing clothes that I have worn before (saving all new, cute outfits for italy), my eyebrows looked a wreck, and overall i just didnt look/feel cute.
I always pictured being asked over a romantic dinner wearing a new outfit and looking good. So, yeah, i was surprised. lol. I just really wish i looked better that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, apparently I still harbor a TON of bad feelings about this! He actually found out that I knew, so he was able to work around it and that helped a lot, but still.... I never would have known it was coming either, that's the worst part.
Anyway!!!! I'm happy, so that's the most important part and I have since stopped talking to Big Mouth
hmmmm - she was greek wasn't she? lol that's something my thea would do....
No, she was the farthest thing from it actually... The Greeks that knew were so good about not saying anything ALTHO I think FH's mom knew that I knew... She said she heard me yell on the phone a few months earler, 'Why would you tell me something like that???'

the only thing i would change would be that i wish i could have done my hair and put some makeup on!
other than that everything was perfect...i had NO clue he was ready to propose, No idea he even had a ring....the way he proposed was sweet and funny...

Maybe I would have changed location to the beach , but it would have been imposible to do it that way since we didn't have vacation plans and it was December. Everything else was perfect!

I would have liked FH to get down on one knee actually say 'will you marry me' instead of his shy and nervous 'I was wondering...if you would be my wife?'

well i always pictured him going down on one knee but he really couldnt do that because we were in a horse and carriage around central park... so i get that he couldnt do it, but the one thing that i would change is i wish he put the ring on my finger... when he opened the box and asked me i was soo nervous and i was like in shock that i took it out of the box and put it on my own finger before he could
i feel really bad cause even to this day he's like... 'you didn't let me put the ring on you!!'

I loved everything about it, i just wished i rememberd what he said to me! I saw him on one knee and then i saw the box, and it was like l went into shock! And i wish was wearing something cuter.. I just had on jean capris and a wife beater! the pics would have been better..

I wouldn't change anything at all. It was the best moment of my life. He proposed while we were on Key West, a few days before Christmas, with my parents and sister in attendance, at a butterfly and nature conservatory. And since my family knew it was happening, my sister borrowed my camera and got great photos, which are in my album.
(Shameless self-promotion, LOL)
Oh! He even had a Pearl Jam shirt on. Perfection!!!

Funny story.... I wouldn't have changed anything about the proposal except the date... he should have done it earlier!
His cousin proposed in Nov. '07. And I was SO pissed at Christmas cause his fiance was flashing her ring and taking pictures with the family. I had expected my FH to propose when he came to visit me in Japan. When he didn't I was crushed. I refused to be in the family Christmas picture. Little did I know that he had the ring in his room and was waiting for the Ranger game a few weeks later!

i wish he got down on one knee....but at the same time i thought it ws cute how nervous he was which was why he forgot to do it....he even forgot what he had prepared to say

My Fh did the same thing. He was like 'here see if it fits'. I was like your suppose to put it on my finger. lol
The only thing I would change is that my sis was not there she was on vacation.

the way i freaking looked...
i was wearing sweat pants, a tshirt, no make up, and my hair wasnt done. we had just woken up and started cleaning the apartment then he decided he wanted to 'exchange christmas presents'
and i have pictures of myself..getting engaged..looking like shittttt

I would have changed the fact that I knew ahead of time it was coming. I love FH and I'm excited to marry him but I feel like I got jipped out of a real proposal.

I wouldn't really have changed anything about the proposal. It was perfect. He did surprise me and did everything to keep it a surprise so if it was only up to him, I wouldn't have had a clue. My sister knew and kind of kept throwing me on/off so I kept thinking about it. He proposed in Paris for our 3 year anniversary and got down on his knee and said beautiful stuff - wish I could remember it all. I was just so in the moment, I couldn't hear him, I was just in awe, LOL.

I would want to remember what FH said to me while he proposed. I was soo excited and happy that I can't remember the little speech he gave. I was so busy shaking my head yes and starring at the ring. I feel so bad about it but I don't want to tell him about it; I don't want to hurt his feelings.

we went to this really nice restaurant but he didnt tell me where we were going. he just said that i didnt have to dress up cuz i asked him what i should wear. so i was just in jeans and a regular top... i woulda liked to have been dressed up a lil thats all.

I loved our proposal! If I had to do it over again, I would have taken pictures. I regret that we don't really have any of those. Also, I wish we had enjoyed dinner that night instead of spent a million hours calling and text messaging people. It would have been nice to just relax and enjoy one another.
