There's something about the word 'hump'. I don't know- it's just gross.
Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone for participating in the QOTDs, and for not eviscerating me over the Encyclopedia Britannica of QOTD's yesterday. However, I really want to thank everyone who took the time to answer- I tried to reply to all of your responses. They were GREAT, and I'll never stop trying to fit 'scrotum' into every sentence I utter from now until my untimely demise.
There are so many things I want to ask, but I'm having a hard time making up my mind. So I think I'm going to go for multiple questions, but only a few. I hope it's okay!!
For those who like the wedding questions:
What is the one aspect of your wedding day you are MOST looking forward to, and the one you are looking forward to the LEAST?
For me, it's walking into the room and seeing everyone I love. I have no idea how I will possibly keep it together when I see everyone I care about in one room. And I'm concerned, because I'm doing the airbrush, and I don't want a 'tracks of my tears' situation.
The LEAST, is the first dance. I don't know- everyone looking at us while we dance? I just think it's too much. The only way I can get myself on a dancefloor usually is to convince myself, well, who is looking at ME?? They're having their own fun! This time, EVERYONE is, and I don't think I can take it. I'm planning on having the DJ have people join us after about 5 seconds.
Second question.
What is your favorite topic of conversation? The thing that you can talk yourself blue about, and after a while, people back away from you slowly?
Politics. I can talk about politics until the cows come home, then while I slaughter them and after I eat them (sorry, Veggie Bride!!). IWhen I first started posting, I got into a few crazy posts about the election (remember, Donna's Mom?). I was so concerned about pissing people off, I posted under an assumed name, because I just couldn't stop myself. I've since come to realize that a lot of us who come here aren't looking for angry discussion, but a fun place to talk about wedding stuff and other good things. And once you out yourself as a Dem or Rep, you immediately alienate people. So I'm tryiing as hard as possible to not discuss it further. Of course, I could talk about religion instead, because people love that. Especially since my God is the only real God.
Only kidding. I love that one.
Last and final question, which someone asked me once, and I LOVED it, but I have no idea why.
If you were a kid again, are you a waterslide or a sandbox kid?
I have actually thought long and hard (like FH.) about this one, and I think it requires specification. Waterslide would be my choice, but there could be no people around to see my a$$ get stuck and the water start to reservoir up behind my grand coulie dam. Also, because I choose not to appear in public in swim garments (the children, my GOD, think of the children!), I'd look ridiculous in my sweatsuit on the waterslide. I did recently see a spot on CNN where some iranian chick devised a very modest swimsuit, called the Burqini, that covered the wearer from head to toe. This might be an option. But barring this, I must opt for the sandbox.
Okay, that's it! Just three questions. Answer one or all, and I hope there's one there for everyone!!
Finally, a confidential QOTD for Snowflake:
Are you back on your meds?

I am most looking forward to seeing FH for the first time, i think I am going to break down. I wish the first time we see each other was down the aisle.
The thing I am least looking forward to is people complaining about ANYTHING....... We worked so hard for this day that I dont even want to hear 1 complaint.
This is so sad but my favorite topic of conversation is FOOD... especially baked macaroni and cheese oh and I love talking about my patients because I think I know whats best for ALL of them
A waterslide kid, love adventures and scary rides, I hate the sand.... yuck.

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
i am not looking foward to everyone seeing me like cry every sec...i hate to cry in front of people... but i cant wait to call the man of my dreams my hubby... and i love talking about food too... i feel like are whole day revolses arounf what are we eating
GREAT QUESTIONS...AND I LOVE READING YOUR POSTS...U F-IN ROCK!
What is the one aspect of your wedding day you are MOST looking forward to, and the one you are looking forward to the LEAST?
most...honestly...I know this may sound awful...but dancing with my father... i have such a close relationship with him and he can dance...we picked a waltz that is sure to be exciting and i am nervous and thrilled all at the same time..lol yes its exciting marrying the man i love but we already feel married..act married...lol marriage is just a label on what we already have....the whole day will be exciting and the ceremony is probably the best part of it...being in the church that we both grew up in...saying the traditional vows that so many have said before us....
the least favorite part....everyone looking at me...lol i hate being the center of attention...I am the one who loves taking pics of other people..not being the one having their pic taken....scared of all that!
What is your favorite topic of conversation? The thing that you can talk yourself blue about, and after a while, people back away from you slowly?
well..i am with ya on the politics thing..and although i did not change my name...i did have some haters due to some of my comments pre election...lol whatever...i have my opinions and i am not afraid to state them....i am an avid reader of political books and can go on and on...sometimes i choose not too because i dont want to FIGHT it out...lol
If you were a kid again, are you a waterslide or a sandbox kid?
I'd have to say sandbox....i was a tomboy and vividly remember playing with my gi joe and he men in the sand....jeez...when skeletor gets pissed...watch out for the sand dunes!

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
Great questions! And short enough that I can actually answer here at work! LOL
What I'm looking foward to the MOST be seeing my FH standing at the other end of the aisle...looking like he's about to cry. I'm going to do my best to block everyone else out...b/c I know that EVERYONE is going to turn and look at me..I'm not used to getting alot of attention. LOL. I just need to focus on FH..and not trip! ha
What I'm totally NOT looking foward to will prolly be the first dance as well. I mean, FH and I are going to be going to dance lessons, and we'll have the cloud of smoke or whatever it is, but when I'm nervous, I tend to forget things. I dont want to go trhough all this practice just to go totally blank when it really counts. AUGH lol
My favorite subject would be anything creative...odd...I know, but I can go on forever..and I have seen people back away after I ramble too much. LOL> Like, I ove to garden, so I will go on and on what you can do differently to make it look a certain way. But then I will get into all specifics and I'm sure I just sound like blah blah blah to them after awhile. I'm the same with everything though... clothing design, writing, photographer...you name it...i yap about it! HAHA
I was a little of both..I loooved the water slides that were connected to a pool or at Splish Splash..HAHA, but HATED the ones on the lawn. I can NOT stand getting the mud and grass on my feet and legs...always skeeved me out. LOL. And, I always loved the sandbox...my brother and I used to play cars in the sand box...making roads with our fingers and little towns. It was soo much fun.
Ahh..to be a kid again!

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
Suzanner - I love these questions!!!!
The thing I am looking forward to most on my wedding day is to have the people FH and I care about most in the world in the same room at the same time. Our family and friends are spread out all over the world and I am just looking forward to being with EVERYONE!
The thing I am dreading - it's a tie between the moment when they announce you and you walk into the room and the first dance. I just know I'm going to have a stupid look on my face or trip or something and I hate hate hate being the center of attention. As far as the dance goes, FH and I look stupid when we dance together - he's 6'2' - I'm 5'0' so you can only imagine. Plus, I love him dearly, but he dances like a 'special' person
Second question.
What is your favorite topic of conversation? The thing that you can talk yourself blue about, and after a while, people back away from you slowly?
Book, Books, Books! I will read anything! I am passionate about books. I love hearing what everyone else is reading and what they liked about it.
If you were a kid again, are you a waterslide or a sandbox kid?
Waterslide kid all the way. I hate being hot and even as a kid I always thought it was too hot in a sandbox. Also, I'm kind of prissy and hate to be dirty..........

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
-I am most looking forward to the priest announcing that we are FINALLY married! Then the party afterward!
-I am least looking forward to the father-daughter dance. It was always my plan that I would have two separate dances, one for my father and one for my step-father. Since my stepfather most probably wont be at the wedding, I want to honor him in a special way without making the whole RH burst into tears...Just thinking about it gets me upset!
-I can talk about babies until the cows come home! I love everything about them. The way they smell, the clothes they wear, baby names, I love it all. That and food!
**Edited to steal Geegee's answer... Books too!!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that! I read at LEAST a book a week (sometimes 2-3) and I could talk about my favorite books all day!
-DEFINITELY a waterslide kid!!!

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
Most looking forward to not having to plan this stupid thing anymore. All I wanted to do was elope and now I'm having a giant party with my life savings for everyone else, specifically, my mother. I nearly killed her when I threatened to elope. That and being married to my lovely man of course.
Least looking forward to crying at any mention/thought of my father. I'm hoping that I'm too wrapped up in everything else to get upset because once my water works turn on, I can't stop, and i'm not one of those people that looks sweet when they cry. I get all red and blotchy and really really scary looking, like some sort of mongoloid.
Fave topic of conversation would have to be things that piss me off. The people that are closest to me think i'm insane, but its the general lack of consideration from others that drives me insane and every day I have a new story. From the person at CVS that used my Secret Clinical then put it back in the box, returned it and then I BOUGHT IT, to the a-hole polishing her nails on the express bus at 7am, to the guy that hit me in my ovary on the street with his briefcase bc hes running to Penn Station...it just amazes me how inconsiderate and rude we are.
I'm totally a waterslide kid. I remember when i was like 5, i was too small for the waterslides at some park we had gone to down south, I spent the WHOLE day sulking around and whining. Sand made me angry the first time it got stuck bt my bumcheeks at the beach.

Re: HUMP DAY QOTD!!
What Im looking fwd to the most is the entire weddnig and what Im looking fwd to the least is the entire wedding! Im like nervous and excitied about the whole thing at the same time so its going to be surreal to live some most and insane for others.
My favorite subject (recently) would be twilight... I would talk to anyone who would listen about the book series and the movie and the website and the movie roles and the movie changes.. ...
And finally, I would probably have to choose both since when I was little when never played in either a sandbox or a waterslide so I missed out! My parents where off the boat then and they didnt know about these thing or even where to find them if they did know so we never went to either

I am most looking forward to seeing FH at the end of the aisle and him seeing me all wedding day dolled up, I just hope I don't cry tooo much! just a gentle pretty bride cry minus tears that could ruin makeup. I am also looking forward to the party! I love a good party with good food and dancing and drinking! I am so excited to see my guests have a good time.
What I'm not looking forward to, I guess being scared that people are not having fun, and hearing any complaints.
What is your favorite topic of conversation? i like to talk about movies!
If you were a kid again, are you a waterslide or a sandbox kid?
no contest- waterslide!!! love them!

most looking forward to- i know it should have something to do with me and FH but its not. I got the Amityville Pipe Band to play for the ceremony. My Grandfather and Dad were both members of this band a long time ago...my Grandfather the most up until the last 10 years or so since he's gotten older and less mobile. It will be a surprise for them and the band is very excited to play because they think it will be special to have both of them there.
least looking forward to- paying everyone at the end of the night. Dine n' dash doesnt really work at weddings huh?
Fav topic of convo- Baking! I can talk about cake all day long. Different techniques, flavors, shapes. Get me talking about baking and i wont stop!
Thirdly, I was and always will be a water slide girl. Funny story- FH and I went to disney this past October. We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and we went on the ride by the name of Humunga Kowabunga. This ride....good lord. Wedgie mania.....we get to the bottom and theres a guy with a huge smile on his face holding a handful of Mickey Ears hats. He runs over to me...and mind you im totally in a state of delusion from this ride..he goes 'you get these ears for being in the right place at the right time! congratulations! you look kinda shocked!' So in my state of shock i say... 'yea well my @ss just ate my bathing suit , id say i have good reason'
Now the guy with the ears was in shock at my response.
Good times.

What is the one aspect of your wedding day you are MOST looking forward to, and the one you are looking forward to the LEAST?
I'm looking most forward to seeing FH for the first time and seeing his reaction to me coming down the aisle.
I'm looking forward the LEAST to the stress of getting ready in time, having so many people running in and out of my rather small house, and the general pandemonium of the hours leading up to everything. I really should just get a DOC, because I'm totally going to forget to pack my final payments, or worse yet, contacts case. I'm also not looking forward to any potential child related diasters at the reception.
What is your favorite topic of conversation?
I can babble for hours on just about anything, this question is probably best asked to my FH, who is constantly telling me to get to the point. What can I say, I'm detail oriented.
If you were a kid again, are you a waterslide or a sandbox kid?
Definitely waterslide...we had the ghetto slip-and-slide, and it hurt like a beast because it never got slippery enough.

Great questions....
I wish the first time we see each other was down the aisle.
I agree- we're seeing each other beforehand for pics, because I don't want to miss ANY of the wedding. I'm very happy with my decision, but a part of me is sad about not first seeing each other walking down the aisle.
The thing I am least looking forward to is people complaining about ANYTHING....... We worked so hard for this day that I dont even want to hear 1 complaint.
DAMN RIGHT!!!
This is so sad but my favorite topic of conversation is FOOD... especially baked macaroni and cheese
I think I stand corrected- Food would probably be mine, too. I think I avoid talking about it in person, because seriously, it's not too attractive seeing a chubsy waxing nostalgic about her breakfast. I avoid the subject, and like people to think I really don't eat, and this is just a thyroid condition.
