Huntington Townhouse
I just read some really bad things about this reception hall. Has anyone had their wedding at this place? I've heard it has gone through different owners in the last couple of years

Re: Huntington Townhouse
I worked there a number of years ago and I would not recommend it either. Its such a wedding factory (or at least it was).

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Have you already booked? From what I've heard, the price is certainly one of the cheapest around. But, for $10-$15/pp more you can get a much better experience elsewhere...

Go to the bbb.org website and look them up. Let that be your guide...it was mine.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Not a fan of the townhouse either, in fact just this weekend, my friend and I said, 'Nah, I don't like that place- it reminds me too much of the townhouse' and everyone agreed.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
That's the issue I heard good and bad things about this place after the fact that I already booked it. I feel like just kicking myself in the ass. I guess there is nothing that I can do now.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
I am getting married July 5 2003. So every place that I called is all booked up for that date. So I just have to deal with what I have already done.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
If you have a few months to find something else, and you did not put down a large deposit ...I would suggest you continue looking. You might want to try the Swan Club. My FI liked the place and put down a deposit. We went back the following week and got back our deposit. Of course we had only given them $200.00

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Since you have to stick with your choice, I suggest you ask very specific questions of your hall. What other events will be happening at the same time. How many other groups will be sharing a bathroom with your event. How long before dinner do they start preparing the food. Let them know exactly what you want. One thing I liked about the HTH was their indoor chapel. Very few halls have such a nice place to have an indoor reception. Like I said, my FI loved the place.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
I also booked at the Townhouse and then retracted two weeks following without a problem. You may want to give it a shot. I booked at Sandcastle but found that Leonards in Great Neck was about the same price as what was offered at the Townshouse, with better reviews. However, I think if you state your concerns in advanced and be real assertive about your needs, everything will be fine. Hope this is helpful.

Re: Huntington Townhouse
Be very careful with them. I've heard mixed reviews. If you want some ideas of places, let me know. My FI and I went to about 20-30 places before we booked and I did a lot of research. Not to make you feel worse, but my cousin is a florist and said the HTH is not the best of places. Try to get out of it with them. You can do soooo much better for about $2,000 more.Welcome New Vendors
