Hurricane Recipes

Does anyone have some quick, no cook recipes in case we loose power? Or any cooking tips?

Guess its time to dig out that rusty manual/hand can opener!

I would think deli meat...but they may not stay if the power is out too long...thats why PB is the better answer...

cheese and crackers?

tuna (get those little individual mayo packets)

Re: Hurricane Recipes

We have a gas stove, so we can still cook a bit if we lose power. I'm stocking up on some Chef Boyardee. My parents, who live on the coast of North Carolina, said that you can eat Dinty Moore Beef Stew out of the can. Maybe tuna fish as well.

you could make pasta salad as well...keep it in the fridge and then eat it cold...

You could get some of those Sterno cans so you can at least heat soup or fry an egg.

Hardboil some eggs for egg salad or to eat plain.

Fruit salad

If it's looking bad consider buying a small charcoal grill so you can at least cook hot dogs, burgers, or heat things in a saucepan on top, like beans or soup.
