In my research on where we should stay in Hawaii, I ran into this post on weddingchannel.com. Thought you ladies might want to take a look...
**WARNING: Kauai Hyatt Under Construction 04/03 - 12/03** I just read the following bulletin about the Kauai Hyatt:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (08/30/02) The Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa will be replacing its roof beginning April 2003. The expected finish date is December 2003. Taking small sections of the roof, they will remove the old tiles and add the new tiles onto the sub straight. As each section is completed, the surrounding landscape will be restored. Periodically from June through December they will finish painting the exterior of the resort. This will entail scaffolding and hanging ladders around the perimeter of the building in scheduled phases--June 12-July 18, August 12-September 13, and November 18-December 20.
I wanted to make sure that anyone else planning a 2003 Kauai honeymoon had this information before they made their plans.

I just wanted to bump this up and find out if anybody has heard anything new. I'm also planning my Sept. honeymoon in Kauai. Thanks for the heads-up.

Darn, I was so busy I didnt call the TA till just now. She's going to call the mgr. of the Hyatt and we'll go from there. Hope I have news for you all soon.

i can't believe this-i hope it's not that bad w/the construction---i was just gathering up all of my info (from my 300 posted questions about hawaii!!LOL) and now this! i wanted to stay at the hyatt but nowdepending on liz's answer i may change

what room did everyone stay in in the hyatt or what room will you stay in and what is the price for the room?
i wonder how they will make sure their guests are 'happy' w/allof that construction going on........

thanks for the info. we are going to be there from June 4-8... hopefully everyone who was to stay in a mountview can get a bump up! this is not the worst that can happen to us!

Hill- we are starting on the Big Island, then going to Oahu, then Kauai. we wanted to go to pearl harbor, so we decided to skip maui.

i am staying at the hyatt july 1 - 5. and i have called and emailed them quite a few times. they have reassured me that the construciont willnot interfere w/my stay. so i am keeping my reservations. i just called the hyatt in Maui i am staying there as well about the pool being closed for renovations and they said there will be no construction.
