no way i would never shock my dog

i was looking at the dogs on the website

i dont know i just dont care for the way they look

the only cute one was the poodle

the first terrier was strange looking IMHO

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

ITs not inhumane. some people have no choice but to put up the fence. like my aunt lives in chicago, in a REALY nice area and they dont allow you to put fences up, and she has had this dog for 10 years so she wasnt going to get rid of him.. they only test it out like 2 or 3 times then they just know the boundries..

but remember even small dogs need excersize and its great if you have a yard to let them run around in! my dogs LOVE that!!

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

they can run around in the basement its HUGE

i dont want poop all over my back yard

they will have to be trained to only go when they are taken for a walk

only thing im not looking forward to about having a dog is picking up after them

OMG - POODLES ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!
(i am biased of course). i never thought i would have one, but FH is allergic ot most dogs. we have two standard poodles (the big ones). they are my children. they are so smart and human like.

here are my babies (they are twins, brother and sister). this is right after they got trimmed so they look spiffy but usually they look scruffy and cute!!!!

one more, couldn't help it. this is my boy, Indigo (Indy for short). Look how he is looking right into my eyes as I take the camera. Tellin you, they are human!!

(so exciting that you are getting a dog. Whatever you choose, dogs are awesome! Good luck!)

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

oh, just re-read your last post. Little dogs are definitely better for you then because they make little 'messes'.

Here is a picture of my FMIL's little poddle. She is a 'BIG' toy poodle. I think she weighs 7 pounds!

Angeleyes,
Yea its best if you walk them and not have them poop in the yard, but i let them out to play and sometimes they just go.. LOL.. i brought my big one to the dog park and she had to peee ALL OVER before she would play with any other dogs!

You can get the pooper scooper and you wont have to pick it up...

I had a Beagle for 15 years... he didn't mess up the house, but of course you have to make sure he's trained... a beagle is not the type to go ripping up slippers or tearing up newspapers all over... well in our case he wasn't...

All dogs need attention... I don't know, I guess my beagle was an acception... our house was never torn apart...

My Prince, may he rest in peace

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

octbride sorry about your dog

pets live in our human hearts forever and will never be forgotten!!!! i still have memories of my pets that have passed over the rainbow bridge

i understand about the training and do think beagles are the absolute cutest doggies ever!

i think i will end up getting a beagle but what if hubbys allergic to it? this dog is for him just as much as for me

the other thing is we are going to have kids within the next 2 years and i wonder what kinda dogs are best with children

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

I have a shih tzu, and they dont shed AT ALL. They have hair just like we do. My mom, my sister and I all have allergies to cats and dogs that shed, but we have never had a problem with my dog. They are smart dogs, and very well behaved. The males tend to be barkers, but the females usually dont bark. Any questions, FM me.

choosing a dog/pet is a very very important decision they will be with me for the rest of their life!!!!

Re: Hypoallergenic Dogs

Take from me... I am a walking ALLERGY!!! Beagles have very short hair, I can tell you, I get most of my attacks from Golden Retreivers and maltese's or any other hairy shedding type of dog...

I'm not sure how serious your hubby's allergies are, but I don't think you will have a problem...
