Hypoallergic formula?

Hypoallergic formula?

After trying 3 different formulas including soy, the doctor has had me switch to Nutramegin by enfamil. So far, only over the past 2 days it really has helped the colic. (and the parents are in a better frame of mind too...so happy our little one has stopped crying)

The only concern is the cost. It is nearly double the cost of any other formula. Does anyone know if this ever goes on sale? I was also told some insurance carriers will cover this. I am up for open enrollment at work and was wondering if anyone can tell me if their carrier has covered this with a doctor's authorization? We'll do whatever it takes to see her not suffering.

My insurance company (Empire) does cover the cost of nutramigen, only if it's medically necessary and if you had a doctors prescription. My son will be 7 months old on tuesday and I just found out last week that my insurance will cover the cost. I wish I would have known about it sooner! I will receive my first case on November 3rd.
