doesn't sound like a company you would want to work for anyway. They can't even keep straight facts of who they interviewed. I think to much emphasis is placed on a piece of paper. Half the time people get hired for jobs that has absolutly nothing to do withw hat they went to school for.

Re: I am a little sad
I know that s u c k s but thats why I'm busting my a$$ going to school at night...but since its only 15 credits, if you go full time you can get financial aid, AND unemployment can pay you the whole time b/c your in school as long as you relate it to getting a job... I don't know how it works exactly but maybe its worth looking into...I know my FBIL collected unemployment for an extended period of time b/c he was in school...

That is so unprofessional of them. If you had hidden the fact from them it would have been one thing. I don't get it. If someone has work experience than what they have a degree in or if they have a degree at all shouldn't matter.
I was a Speech Language Patholgy Major. Do you think that has anything to do with my Marketing job? So because I have a little piece of paper saying I graduated makes me more qualified than someone who may have just as much experience? I think it is a lot of bull.
Sorry for you Chip. You didn't want to work for mean people anyway!

Have you looked into student loans? You can borrow up to I believe $8500 without paying interest until I think 6 months after you graduate. If that is the key to getting a job, it might be worth it.

Mary, Yes I have I am currently in the repaying process because my last official day with my college was May 2001 and I started repaying them back the following year. If I go back to school I wont have to repay the loan again till the 6 months after graduation.
But now its a matter of will I get the loan

Re: I am a little sad
Hofstra is pretty good about excepting credits from Nassau. It is a pricey school but if you don't lose the credits it may be worth it.
Don't worry something will come up for you!!! What kind of work do you do?
