Hello ladies! I am recently engaged (5 days) Been dreaming of this for so long and I thought I would be so organized and I have no idea where to start! The only thing I know is that we want to get married next summer! So, I am praying that my fellow brides will help!
Is there any place I can go to get some prices for catering halls? I don't want to have to go to each of them.
Thanks!!
Lisa

Re: I am a Newbie to LIW
congrats on your engagement. Are there any particular reception halls you like? That way people who have visited them can give you what they were quoted

Re: I am a Newbie to LIW
I would make a post asking for specific quotes to leonards and any other places you might be interested in. The only place I have prices for is Floral Terrace.
Also just so you know if you have your heart set on a place but think the price is too high you might want to consider a friday night or sunday wedding or another time of year b/c these factors can change the price dramatically

Re: I am a Newbie to LIW
There is a magazine in Borders or B&N called LI Wedding Receptions or something like that.
There are plenty of other places just as nice as Lenards that you might not know about.
I thought for sure I wanted to get married on the water with a unique ambiance. Well my on the water is a little man made lake and waterfall at the East Wind but the inside blew me away.

CONGRATS!! There is a great spreadsheet you can find in the 'Newsday's Long Island Weddings' magazine - you can find it free usually outside of CVS or other supermarket/drug stores. It has a breakdown of ALL possible Nassau/Suffolk/Queens/Brooklyn catering halls will price ranges, seating capacity, event capacities, and other suggestions. HTH
Hey thanks!! Look at you one year to the day for you!! How exciting!

Re: I am a Newbie to LIW
Welcome & congrats! We decided where on LI we wanted to get married (county, area, etc), had an idea of date and then started making calls. If you are looking for next summer- many places might already be booked!

Leonards is surprisingly affordable because they cater to something like 7 events at once... hence the low price...
Congrats! Newsday actually has a free magazine around that has a listing of catering halls and pricing.
This is what we did...narrow it down to a few that you like and call and see what their pricing is

Re: I am a Newbie to LIW
You're probably better off thinking of a RH that you're interested in so that we can post some prices for you. But I still highly recommend that you visit a few halls.
