because my friend kim stinks!! after i talked to her about how noone's boyfriend was invited to my eparty, she proceeded to tell me how they are getting married soon (what...he hasn't even said i love you...) and he is the most wonderful thing to ever happen to her etc etc... AND to tell me how much I have changed, how I am not as much fun as i used to be and I am more conservative-

So I said, THANK YOU I am glad I am more mature than when I was 20...and I told her don't worry about coming to my party, that we will have dinner another time.

It just ***** that this is supposed to be about Evan and I and she is the ONLY ONE giving us trouble- I have pretty much decided that I can't deal with her unhealthy impact in my life right now...and I am sad.

I guess I have to realize that the most important thing right now is me and fh...

Thanks for letting me vent

Pegalicious- thank you for your opinion as well. I do not mean to make anyone uncomfortable, nor am I trying to 'judge'the seriousness of anyone's relationship- my parents are not rich people and we need to draw the line somewhere for the guest list. We drew it at only inviting significant others of people who are engaged or live together. Mind you- this is a FAMILY party- fh and I invited 3 friends each. And the list is still at 150+ because we have large families.

Honestly, I would NEVER put a friend in a position like this... I wish I could afford for everyone to bring whoever they want, but it is not that way, and if I let her bring her boyfriend then I have to let everyone...an additional 25 people which my parents can not afford.

I have been in that situation before, and I would NOT choose a guy I had been dating for 3 months over my best friend's engagement party- EVER!!!

ETA: And if she did choose him over me, she should have just done it, rsvp that you can't make it, and that's it- SAVE THE F%^*&NG DRAMA FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS TIME FOR IT!!!!! (Sorry, I am just a little annoyed by the situation)

well, i finally had it out with her i really let her have it- told her EVERYTHING- and she apologized!! she admitted that maybe it is hard for her to adjust to the changes in my life and etc...

so anyway, she IS coming without her crappy boyfriend- she says he 'wants to chill at home instead' YAY!!!

I have to say thanks to all of you- sometimes I feel so silly talking about this crap- but you girls always 'get it'

I am so glad it worked out. It seems like maybe she's just jealous and/or scared fo losing you now that you're getting married. It'll be ok. Now you know she's always by y9our side no matter what!
