I am feeling insecure- wedding pressure

Original post by nrvbrd

Next month FH and I are going to the wedding of a girl he grew up with a family friend.

Her wedding will be at the very place that I wanted to book ours, but could not afford. It is a lovely place on the water.

Her parents are pretty much paying for it so I am sure no expense will be spared.

Alot of these same people will be coming to my wedding 4 months later. I am worried mine will not measure up and people will undoubtedly compare.

I know I should not think like this but I keep having this sinking feeling that her wedding will outdo mine.

I know I am being pathetic.

Think about the weddings you remember most. They aren't the ones that were the most expensive. I bet they are the ones that were the most fun, had great music and showed the love the bride and groom had for eachother. Your wedding will be perfect b/c it is your wedding. I have been to weddings ranging from very very expensive to ones that were held in a chcurch hall and what I remember most is the party and the little things that made it special.

I understand how you feel but I remember going to a wedding at a house there were about 25-30 people and it was one of the best times that i had because the 2 most important things- the food was excellent- and the dj was rockin- that really impressed me- she was a beautiful bride. I also went to a wedding that was very expensive and that was also good- because the food and the music- thats all i ever rember when i go to weddings- feel proud that you are marrying the man that you love and dont worry aobut outdoing her- Good Luck
