My annual review at work was moved up from Friday to this afternoon, and I do not have a good feeling about it. I think there's a chance I could lose my job!

Maybe your boss is going to be out that day. Think positively

You'll find another job if you lose this one. There is unemployment for these temporary setbacks! Don't worry!! Let us know how goes it.

Don't read too much into this and then go into your meeting with a negative attitude.
They could be very happy with your performance and are just anxious to give you a raise!
Let us know what happens...

Do you like your job? If it's true that they aren't happy, do you want to convince them to keep you, or do you not really care?
Either way, just try to stay positive. Don't burn any bridges. Don't get defensive. If you do wind up looking for another job, you will still need them as a reference.

I don't necessarily agree with this. If she gets fired for performance screw them! She doesn't need to put them on her resume. If they are downsizing, that's a different story though.

Actually, I can very easily say that I hate it. But I don't want to be in the position of having to look for a new job until after the wedding. So I am planning to ask to be given another chance to prove myself.

You're right - it's not necessarily true for everyone and for every situation. For me, I've learned that it tends to pay to stay professional, whatever you're up against. Sometimes doing otherwise has a way of biting you in the @ss when you least expect it.

Maybe you could suggest more frequent evaluations, rather than just an annual? That way they could let you know if they are unhappy right away, rather than letting it build and build.

Good luck - I hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.
I think your boss is being unreasonable for moving the review up b/c you were late for slipping and falling. What were you supposed to do go to work in ripped or dirty clothing? Ugh.
If they do fire you, at least you'll get unemployment. That's better than nothing. (not that that's any consolation!!)
You mentioned you hated your job. Maybe this is the 'open window' of opportunity to get something you do like. Remember employers are (for the most part I think it's a law) not allowed to give actual reviews to other prospective employees, just verify the dates that they worked there so that might help in your case.
