I just finished stamping and sealing all of my invites last night. I just went to look at my RH contract to see about tips when I realized...
I PUT THE WRONG TIME FOR THE RECEPTION ON ALL OF MY INVITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
put 12:30 instead of 12. If ppl decide to come a little late (which they always do) they will miss the entire CH!
I have been fine during this entire planning process for the past year and a 1/2 and now I may have a breakdown

Can't you just fix that 1 card??? In your profile it looks like you did them DIY... Can't you just fix them? I think you have enough time.
I know it stinks, and you will need to do the envelopes over ( you most likely will be able to peel off the stamps), but I think it will cause a lot of confusion if you send out another card.... JMO
I agree, this is what I said on the NW board where she reposted this question. The invites don't have to be mailed until 9/22 anyway, there is time to fix the problem.
I just couldn't mail out something I knew was wrong.

Thanks for all the suggestions...FH and I will figure something out. I want to talk to RH before I do anything.
Thanks again!

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that, unfortunately I think you're going to have to reorder your cards with the time, this isn't something you will want to happen with possibly everyone coming late.

email is very fast and i'm sure a majority of your guests check it frequently! also, if you have a wedding website, post your error on there! and if i were in your situation, i would definitely send out postcards with the correct information! i wouldn't cry, i feel like this situation has happened several times before and it will surely work out in your favor!

my only concern with email is that not every guest will check it and many older guests dont even go on a computer and dont have an email. I think about dh's older aunts and uncles, and then even mine.
This happened with a friend, it was for her shower and her MOH had to send out a notecard fixing the mistake and it worked out great. I think its the best solution. And dont cry it will work out

I don't think the email thing will work anyway. It was a nightmare trying to get evryones addresses I can't imagine trying to get everyone's emails!
I think we are going to send out cards and obviously word of mouth.
I know it will work out one way or another it's just another aggravation right as work starts up again and I am hardly ever home!
Ahh the trials and tribulations of being bride

I think that the norm is to add about a half our to the actual time just to be on the safe side. Not everyone is on time. Don't worry about it. Talk to the hall just to make sure they're on board with you.

Have you sealed and envelope and found you need it open again? Place it in the freezer for a few hours and then slid a knife under the flap to open it. When you want, you can reseal the envelope.
I just read this somewhere too... worth it to try this to get them open

OMG! Maybe you can send an extra card stating the error & letting people know the correct time. You can make them yourself with nice cardstock. Im so sorry about this! Hey everyone makes mistakes. It happens. Hope i helped a bit.

Re: I AM GOING TO CRY
You should wait until you're a little closer to your date. A number of people will probably decline your invitation. You don't have to let them know about the mistake. Once you have an almost final list, you cane send out cards or make phone calls. That way, you don't have to waste time, money and energy on people who are not even coming to your wedding.
Good luck!

Re: I AM GOING TO CRY
A similar thing happened to my friend. After they went we all realized that the time of the Ceremony wasn't on there at all (printers fault).
She had a small card made up with the time of the ceremony and CH and as people responded YES she sent them a card. It wasn't confusing at all since it came seperately and after you responded.

okay that totally stinks and I wuold have freaked out too. But you can't change it, its too late, but you can fix it. its not thaaaat bad. Like someone else said- get postcards from vista print and make up a cute poem about the mistake. This and word of mouth will get the message across! Yes it'll cost a little bit, but it will do the trick!

you have everyone's addresses, have nice notecards made up saying that the time of the ceremony has been changed to 12 and send them out in like 2 weeks, that way it looks like the rh changed it or something. you can even send out a a reminder like 2 weeks before the wedding. make it seem like no big deal and it won't be a big deal!
That's also a good idea! I don't want everyone to know I messed it up! How embarrassing is that?! I'll never hear the end of those cracks! When I send out baby shower invites my fam and FH fam would both be calling to check the time just to be wise @sses!
This is also a good idea, because maybe by then you will have some 'no's' and will be able to cut costs by not having to send them the postcard.

This is what I was going to tell you to do....just make up cards stating that the time has been changed from 12:30 to 12 etc. People will understand and although it will be a pain, it will be less of a pain then sitting there calling everyone and having a conversation with all the people you call.

Oh my gosh - you will be fine though. I think everyone gave great suggestions. Wait until you get some RSVPs and send a notecard to attending guests only (save some $) telling them of a 'time change' - also put in some calls to your guests. It will be totally fine.

Re: I AM GOING TO CRY
Just think- this will hopefully be the most major issue you have from now til after the wedding and you've gotten it over with and no pictures to show for it! Cheer up it'll be fine!
