I am in DESPERATE need of major help!!! PLEASE

In advance i thank anyone who can give me advice here goes-
I am getting married at the reception hall. I put a 15 minute earlier start time on the invitation (they are all done and have been done for a long time now). Yesterday I went to my hall and they told me they want a copy of my invitation to match up the start time. When I asked why they said if it does not match up they will charge me $3 extra per person. I pretened like it was ok. I asked what happens if people come a little earlier and she said that was fine they could wait in the lobby. My question what do I do? HELP HELP

Tell them you were thinking of putting an earlier start time on the invites by like 15min. so that people didnt come in early and see if they still want to charge you. If they do then overlook getting them the invites. JMO

Thats nuts, $3 a person just for 15 minutes I also suggest 'overlooking' it

I should also add the $3 is a hospitality thing so they serve something to drink and I believe strawberries or fruit or treats or something. If I simply do the overlooking thing I feel like I'll constantly worry about it. I am a worrier so I dont want that over my head. Ughhhh!
Should I ask if I can end 15 minutes earlier?
Should I pay it?
Do I redo my invites?
HELP!!!!

don't redo your invites that may end up costing you more than the 3$ . you might be able to negotiate something with them.

What if you tell them that you ran out of invites?? Or better yet, make one on the computer with the correct start time and give that to them!! I know its sneaky, but you shouldn't have to pay $3 extra!

What if you just told them you have no extras and print a copy of the text with the correct time and not what your invites really say. It may be fibbing but it could work. Your FH had extra people he wanted to invite so you ran out of invitations. Oh well. Good Luck!

I think that is a bunch of bull... because most places charge $3 for 30 mins... and regardless...ppl would of should up earlier then that any way if the invite didnt say it.

I dont think you should worry about it too much. Remember people arent going to be showing up at the exact time the wedding starts so they will be showing up a little early. I would just do what the others say and make up a fake copy of the invite with the correct time. Even if you had the right time on the invite who is to say that you wont have a few guests that show up extra early to get the good seats?:) Dont sweat it!!!!

Blame it on them.

Thatched Cottage has received several reviews which indicated that their valet parking is slow and clogs traffic on 25A.

Why should your guests have to miss part of your ceremony because of TC's inefficiency???

is it for the early time or because they'll be 'serving' something to your guests?

If it's the latter, I would tell them you don't want anything 'extra', you simply wanted to make sure everyone got there in time for your ceremony.

that sounds like a bunch of bull, unless it's due to the serving of champagne and punch, which is what we're doing. Our place charged us an extra $2.50 per person.

That is just wierd because my hall suggests that we put 1/2 hour before our ceremony starts. i figure because of traffic and there valet situation too.

I totally agree!!! Don't most halls include that hospitality of champagne & strawberries for early arrivals anyway?? Three dollars pp for 15 minutes -- that's really greedy of them.

WOW, I think that is crazy. I put a half hour earlier start time...we were having some hosptality time first. But we were not charged extra. I know how important it is to want you guests there for your ceremony. I dont think you should have to pay extra.

I'd understand if your guests would arrive a half hour or an hour earlier but 15 minutes?
I'd show them the invitation that I got and tell them that you just put the extra 15 minutes to make sure that everyone is on time and there for your ceremony. I'd also tell them that everything should be ready for you and your guests(you surely hope so) before then. You can also tell them that you would tell your guests word of mouth if this is a problem for them about the start time(you are actually not doing this.)
I think they will probably want you to be happy and accomodate you in any way possible and that 15 minutes should not really make that much of a difference. This is where your Maitre'D and you Banquet Manager can step up to the plate and make things convenient for you and your guests and earn that tip you are giving them.
I'd definitely not print invitations again.

ETA>> My guests are allowed to come half hour before Cocktail Hours begin. They are not charging me anything extra either. I'd look into to see if maybe the person who told you this is not trying to get another extra tip for themselves. That's plain ridiculous.
