I am infuriated!! Just got the invite I mailed to myself...

I am infuriated!! Just got the invite I mailed to myself...

...and it looks like it got run over by a truck!!!! The edges are completely banged up, and even the RSVP envelope INSIDE got f-cked up!! How on earth could that happen?!?!?!?

They also were NOT hand-cancelled like the woman said they would be, but I don't think just the machine would f-ck this up so bad!

Ughhh now I hope not all of them got so mangled!! I am so mad!!!!!!!!!

Now how did that happen? did the woman you had address the invites mail them for you too? You should have taken them to the post office yourself. But you know just cause they deliver rain,sleet and snow doesn't mean your mail doesn't get JACKED up in the process. I'm very sorry to hear about your invite getting jacked. Call one of your friends tomorrow and see if theirs got jacked too?

JACKED -- LMAO!!!!! I did deliver them myself, they just were not hand-cancelled. But I actually *just* got a call from a friend who got it, and he said his looks OK... maybe it's my mailman who is reckless?? Bast-rds!

Well glad his looks ok. Hopefully your mailman was just having to much fun on his/her lunch break before they delivered your invite. Or maybe they were getting chased by a dog and dropped the mail bag in the middle of the street and then a car came out of no where and ran over the bag and your invite was on top? Likely story I think! LOL

I'm so sorry that happened to you but unfortunately a similar thing happened to my friend!!!

Fellow Brides beware... A friend of mine sent out her very formal bridal shower invites and asked they be 'hand cancelled' by the post office. I live in the SAME TOWN that she does, and when I received her invite it looked TERRIBLE. Lines all over the envelope and they were filthy! I didn't tell her, but it definitely made me panicky about sending my invites!!!

But what I don't understand is how can it be from the machine, when the rest of the random mail I got that was also put thru the machine (cause it has the same stamp on it!) doesn't look mangled??

Maybe the size / shape of the invite affects the way it is run through the machine? They shouldn't have touched the machine AT ALL though if they were supposed to be hand cancelled!!! I'm So sorry again!!!!!!

i asked my invites to be hand-stamped and when i got back the rsvp's the cards are bent. oh well

oh my god i didnt even think about that. my mail comes mangled sometimes. it sucks because you spend this money so they will look nice and they get messed up in the mail.

this happened to me too. I told FH to have the post office hand-cancel them but..... guess not b/c when I saw my girlfriends with what i could only describe as tire marks all across the front i am guessing he didn't do that. Not as bad as when i received some RSVPs with glue marks and paper stuck to the writing! Apparently, the glue from the envelopes seeped through into the invite and made the RSVP card almost unreadable. Oh well. What are you going to do....?

could definitely be your mailman...

And, every now and then, I get mail in a bag with a letter that says, 'Sorry, your mail got destroyed...USPS'

But, I have seen mailpeople SLAM and SHOVE mail into the boxes, so that's most likely what the problem was.

Also, with the hand cancelling, I did mine myself. I didn't trust the people at the post office to do it for me. Those are the same people who are always on the news for shooting each other...

(Since your friend's was okay, I am sure that the rest are just fine!)

Hand cancelled is when you individually stamp each of the envelopes to cancel the postage instead of having the machine put that cirlcle thing with the city and date on it. This way it doesn't egt ruined in the machine. I am so sorry this happened to your invite. I am sure they look beautiful anyway!
