Hey ladies! Well I just came home from Davids Bridal. I did end up getting a fuller slip- but it doesnt poof out THAT much- just more at the hips.
The reason why I am upset is because I had a really bad experience today. So I go in to exchange my slip and the lady looks at my pics so I explain to her i need a fuller one blah blah blah and she goes to me 'well can i be honest with you? I dont like the dress on you- I think it targets the tummy area too much which is somethng you might want to cover up and then she goes you should look at other dresses so im like 'no its OK i love this dress this is the dress i fell in love with' and she goes its a beautiful dress- looks good on the thinner girls but for you I just think you may want to try a different style.... At this point i wanted to burst out crying because I tend to be very sensitive ( umm hello which girl isnt!) so i just go 'Id like to see the fuller slip please and then ill make my decision' so she gives me a fuller slip and I try it on and im all happy again so of course she has to burst my bubble and say oh yea it looks good but i still think style xyzwill look nicer. I just ignored her and said ill take this slip instead.....
I feel terrible though ladies as much as I dont want to listen to her Im pretty proud of myself I lose 26 lbs so far and counting...... I am attaching pics please let me know the truth. Do you think the dress is not good for my body type?

Athena, please do not pay one bit of mind to that horrible woman. First off nobody asked her for her opinion. People should really learn to keep their opinions to themselves
I think the dress looks beautiful on you. You are doing a great job!!! 26lbs is alot of weight and you should be very proud of yourself.

Wow! No fun! I'm so sorry that she upset you so much! My opinion of this situation is a bit different. Please don't hate me!
Ok so I will probably get the attack of a life time for saying this but if I could just say -
Yes that woman had a HUGE SET of balls. She took a risk by being honest with you. I highly doubt she was trying to upset you - I worked in retail for years. I always tried to be honest with my customers and because I saw so many women try on so many things I knew what looked good on which body type.
Does this dress emphasize your top half - yes it does. You have lost an amazing 26 pounds and you have an entire year to get the body you want! That is great! You love this dress and you are determined to make it work - so work it! The dress is beautiful and you just beam in it!
She sees women of all different sizes try on hundreds of dresses everyday. She has seen women that look just like you try on that xyz style and instantly look 2 sizes smaller. She wanted you to see that hoping it would convince you to go with a different style. I am thinking that her final goal is to see you looking as beautiful as you can.
You handled a difficult and painful situation well. She should have gotten a clue and backed off! For her to continue to insist that you should try on such and such after you made it clear that you love this dress was in poor taste. I'm so sorry that she upset you so much.
All right I am now bracing for the all out attack!

Agapi mou, min afisis aftin tin malakismeni na sou halasi tin diathesi. Astin an lei.... Personally, I loved the dress the 1time i saw it on and even more the 2nd time i saw it with the fuller slip. The dress looks great on u and it does not emphasize anything. That girl should not be working in a bridal store. even if that is what she thought she could have said it much nicer.... but whatever thats not the issue here. You look beautiful and you will look even better on ur wedding day. Please smile and dont let that snobby little vromiara get to u...

You look amazing in that dress! Don't let that nasty saleswoman ruin it for you. I would definitely file a complaint about her to the store and the company.

I want to go back with you to tell that women what I think. You look AWESOME in that dress and you glow wearing it. Im so sorry that she made you feel like that. No one should make a bride feel like that about the dress.
