My Mom asked me to call the Huntington Hilton (where we have our room block) and make reservations for us for the night before the wedding (we're getting ready there).
I call and asked them if it would be a problem if we had a dog in the junior suite. They inform me that THEY ARE NO LONG A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL.
what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'm like, 'Are you kidding?! That's why we booked with you!! Why didn't I get any notification??'
The man was very apologetic and transferred me to the head sales rep who was in a meeting, so I got her voicemail.
I am SEETHING! WTH am I going to do?? The family dog is diabetic and needs shots twice a day. There's no way we can leave him at home!!
I don't know what to do. You think they'll make an exception for my dog?? He's good I promise! Ugh
***********************UPDATE!*********************** As I was hoping, they are allowing me to bring my dog! The woman on the phone was very sweet and there was no trouble at all. She is reserving some rooms for me as we speak! YAY!
Thank you all so much for your help! I was almost in tears because of how quickly you ladies were willing to help me take care of Max. I love you guys so much!

Hopefully they will make an exception since you and your guests are dropping a lot of $$ there and they never informed you of this change in policy. If not, sneak him in!

When did you book with them? Cuz when I looked there they told me they weren't pet friendly and that was like a year ago.
Explain the situation with the doggie and if all else fails, if he'she is small enough.. sneak em' in.

We booked about 2-3 months ago and they told me they were pet friendly. I even saw a dog in the lobby! I was so happy too.
He's not small enough to sneak in He's about 35-40lbs. We'd need a duffel bag for him

That is COMPLETE BS Becca!!!! Speak up for the dog and tell them you expect to be compensated and that the dog is coming in! Is there anyway someone can go to the house and check on the dog for you throughout the day. Like a friends sibling who isn't invited to the wedding or something? BUT DEF fight until the end! that's CR*P!!!!

Have you spoken to the same person you booked with? You booked with them based on that information - you have every right to expect them to follow through on their word. Fight them on it! Or sneak in the dog in a giant roll-y suitcase left part open.

What! That's ridiculous! I'm sorry you're dealing with this. If they won't let him in, tell them you expect compensation so that you can find someone to take care of him for those days!

try a pet sitting service. I have a friend that does this and she has sitted for pets that have special needs like that. it might not be too expensive, since i'd be for a night or 2, right? i'd have to check with her if you'd like.

Gina that's so sweet!!! I'd keep your offer in mind, but he gets 2 shots of insulin a day because he's a diabetic. That's a lot to ask of you... Plus he's incredibly anti social and would probably bark/cry at Darwin.

The 2 shots a day thing wouldn't be an issue I had to do it for my parent's cat for years.... but I don't want him to stress out over Darwin. Darwin can be a little over bearing. He doesn't understand why not everyone wants to play with him.
But the offer always stands :)

If they dont make the exception (which they really should but unfortunately probably wont .. maybe a neighbor can do it for you? Or is there a good kennel that you trust that can do it?

it's false advertising! tell them you're either bringing your dog, or your telling your guests to go elsewhere and reporting them to bbb for false advertising!

Thanks Britt, I just printed. I hope they have a policy for room block people! For the amount of money being spent, you'd think they'd be willing to help. We shall see! I hope to have an update soon.
