Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....
You can also try doing a search on Petfinders. If you can't rescue a yorkie, please go to a reputable breeder. Please avoid pet stores and back yard breeders.
Thanks a nd good luck!!!

Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....
Ok FM me. theres NO such thing as a 'teacup'Don't buy from a store, they are from puppymills.
I will help you find a good breeder if you want.
Just stay away from pet shops and 'breeders' that use the term 'teacup'
eta:info on 'teacups'
also, you can go to the pets baord and read a million things on puppymills.

i believe it.
they say they are 't-cups' then make them SUPER expensive.
T-Cup is supposed to mena the dog will stay under 4lbs. But when in fact the breed standard is 2-6lbs as it is. Plus they have no way of knowing how big the dog will truly get. They can only guess.
And they ALWAYS say they will be smaller than what they end up (rep and non-rep breeders)
They try to breed the smallest 2 Yorkies (or any small breed) and so on and so on. These dogs are usually sick nad do not live as long as they should. Its bad breeding genetically.
Some 'breeders' often call the runt of the litter a 'teacup'
flaca... AKC Breeders
theres a list of reputable breeders.
also, a message about 'Teacup Yorkies'
GOOD LUCK!
fm me if you need anymore help finding a breeder!

Like I said, the breed standard is 2-6 lbs. So that just means that her Yorkie is within breed standard.

They are so adorable! You are so lucky, I want one.

And I always feel that the more people who are educated about it all, maybe there is hope to stop the 'bad breeding'.

Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....
I'm in the process of looking for a poodle, and any breeder who says that they have Teacups or Tiny Toys is not getting a second look from me.To breed a dog that small actually endangers their health. I'd rather have a healthy dog that doesn't fit in my purse!
