Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....

princessrose.... i hear ya. wheni got Tink they told me it was going to be sooo small... and at the time i wanted that. now i have her and shes a pretty 'big' chihuahua. But i must admit., i cant be happier. shes going to live a longer healthier life.
i stepped on her too much when she was too tiny anyway!

i just thought is was VERY interesting how these people , not just puppy mills, try to pass off these dogs as teacups and then charge a gazillion dollars for one!

Wheni saw this dog that was told to me that he was a teacup yorkie, i fell in love..until i heard the price..

Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....

Good luck Flaca!! I want a Yorkie so bad too but we already have 2 dogs so it's a no for now!

But I agree with lolita - stay away from anyone who uses the term teacup... everything I've read on this just points to irresponsible breeding and unhealthy dogs.

If you do find a good breeder, FM me the info, I still hope to get one in the future!

yes but there are a few differences

1. i eat meat.

and

2. i am definatly all ofr animal rights, but i think sometimes Peta goes a tad too far.
i'm not as far up my own azz as most of them.

but i do def try to be a voice for them if/when i can.

Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....

Red... i know what you mean.
IMO, i bet that most of the breeders that use the term 'teacup' KNOW that there is no such thing, but they dont know that YOU do, so they try to pull one over.
These breeders are usually backyard breeders who breed for profit, not to better the standard or love of the breed.

it depends. some people think they do.
for example, when they have girls dressed as tigers in cages in fornt of the circus. ALOT of people get offended by these sorts of things.
I, personally, do not... but i feel that alot of PETA activists think their sh!t dont stink iof you know what i mean.
i feel some of them are too pigheaded and instead of helping, sometimes they hurt their cause.

Re: I am looking to purchase a Yorkie....

I have a yorkie.

The only thing I can say is that 'teacup' is a myth, and DO NOT BUY FROM PUPPY CITY!

our dog was SO sick. I don't know why my mom is sos tupid, but we've bought 3 dogs form there and all were sick. Our yorkie almost DIED. She had a tumultuous first few months plus she has a lot of physical problems.

DO NOT BUY FROM PUPPY CITY

I can't stress that enough. Go to a rescue or a reputable breeder. Yorkies makes great pets, they are small and cuddly, and can be trained to use wee wee pads or a small litter box if you can't walk them all the time
