ok I was informed today my store is closing in a few weeks. I am somewhat upset and scared. Long story short, I have been there for 14 years. I started when I was 16 and just stayed with it. Well now it is closing up forever. I am somewhat scared because I don't know anything else. But I know I am also stuck. I do not want to go into retail again. (people can be sooooo CRUEL.)
I think after this I am going to take until January off. I have been working since I was 14 and need some time. I will be posting here probably for job help in a few months for job help and resume` assistance.
But in some sort of way I am happy. I have been getting so tired of it lately. I just will miss all the wonderulf friendships I have made. That is what hurts the most.

I'm really sorry to hear about this. It is always a life change when you lose or quit your job. I wish you the best and hope that you find something quickly. I'm sure some lucky company or store will value your 14 year loyalty to Sweezy's. Keep your chin up.
another inspirational story...DH wanted to quit his job, but would lose his stock options...so when he was laid off we took the opportunity to move to CA and are just loving our new lifestyle!!!
I will say that DH took 1 month off before looking for a new job...but when he did start looking it wasn't as easy as he thought...you may want to look around a little in case something great comes up...

Sometimes when life closes one door it opens up another - (an even better one) I know that is not much comfort when you know that you will be losing your job - but often these things work out for the best - this is your opportunity to get some down time - then I bet you will get a better job and it will all be for the best.

I'm sorry to hear that...I know how you feel. I have been at my store for almost 10 years and I cringe thinking about leaving it one day. I feel like it is my second home. Good luck to you.
