I am NOT gonna be the Designated Walker tonight

I'm a light weight and when we drink, it's often in NYC where we don't have to worry about driving and all of that.

BUT, it's dangerous for DH to be the drunk one because he needs my physical support (like on stairs) - without me holding him up, he'll fall. I've been the Designated Walker waaaay too many times.

So when we talked about going out, I said, 'You're taking care of me tonight, right?'

'Sure; but I'm going to drink, too, so we'll be drunk together.'

I got so annoyed that everyone in my office heard this and laughed at me because I YELLED, 'I'm getting drunk and you're gonna take care of me. I don't feel like walking your stumbling azz to the train and then home.'

'No, no, I'll just drink a little.'

Liaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar! It's my turn to be irresponsible and stumbling in public. MY TURN.

awwww...you deserve a night of debauchery!!!! tell the bartender he's driving and they won't serve him!

Either way Mel, you'll have fun!!!

ps - my husband doesn't drink.

My DH shouldn't be drinking and he knows it. I'm going to lie to the bartender - good idea, C.

awh man, that's annoying. Gotta love tough husbands who don't follow docs orders.

My friends are jealous of my lifetime time designated walker/driver/etc. It's so funny.

I said 'time' twice!

It's the only thing I can get people to be jealous of so I kind of like it. I try to get people jealous of my turtle collection, or my big microwave and it never works.

I LOVE turtles...I am officially jealous. (green with envy )

I used to have a designated driver/walker...until a few years ago when dh decided he wanted to drink. now, forget it. the worst part is, I dont HAVE A LICENSE...so we are SOOL when he gets drunk.

I agree! Driving is tolerable, but the world is full of crappy, rude drivers. Plus I am impatient - I changed lanes 23 times this morning on the way to work
