I have 7 months and I feel like we will never have enough money. We are trying to pay cash for everything because we really want to put all of our gift money toward a house but it is getting really hard.
My fh is a mortgage broker and for those of you who know the market is HORRIBLE right now. My poor fh is working sooooo hard and making less than half of what he used to so now alot of the financial pressure is falling on me. I make good money, but I am a teacher so its not that great.
Last night my fh couldn't even sleep, he stayed up all night stressing and worrying. I hate seeing him like this, it makes me want to cry and I know there really is nothing I can do to help.
Sorry for rambling but I am just really feeling down today, why can't things just be easy, or why can't I have a dad to pay for my wedding.
Anyone else feeling like this, please say soemone is and we are not the only broke people.

ugh i know how you feel. im in real estate (title insurance) and have been begging broker friends of mine to use my title company and i'd split my commission with them just for the extra money. i havent slept w/o ambien or tylenol pm since nwe got engaged in sept and i have a whole year left!

You're definately not alone.
I've been trying to do my best to keep sane (sp?) because I know how I get when I'm money stressed but this is alot more difficult than I thought it would be. Just keep your head up high and try to be realistic with what you want and can have on your wedding day. Splurge on the things that you really feel is IMPORTANT to you both and then hold back on what's not. I've tried that and keep thinking that that has been helping. Hopefully that helps. We are all here for you. Keep your head up!

lol I JUST finished telling FH this. we have to book our photog which takes 1,200...we just payed JT 15000. We still hafta book our dj and i'd like to work on invitations after the new year because I'm DIYing.
we are also paying for everything in cash and its hard having to wait for FH to get the $$ together in order for me to plan this...and my hands are tied with a mortgage. we are going to take out a loan so we can get everything done in time and make our payments on time and then we'll just keep paying the loan off. we should be able to pay more than half of the loan off before our wedding date. maybe we'll do a 2 yr just to be safe but pay it off in 1

of course your not alone!!! i am not stressing too bad but i am stressing lol being out of work is killing me!!!!!!!!!! i am sure in the next month or 2 i will really start stressing

Hey, totally right there with you... FH is better at not stressing about money..I on the other hand cannot stop myself from stressing once I start! FH is a city cop and I am only a leave replacement in NB....but, I feel like we will all get through it no matter what...just hang in there

I hear ya. Right now we're debating about invites. I can do DIY invites for a third of the price as ordering them! It really is scary worrying about money.

I have such bad acid reflux from all the worrying and stress and now its Christmas time on top of the wedding money worries. FH has been out of work for the past month too! He starts a new job on Monday...Thank God!!!

I am really stressing about money too. I was out of work for a month and I start my new job Monday so it's going to take me some time to catch up. When I didn't have a job I couldn't sleep at all. I hope everything works out for you and FH

Believe me Im right there with you guys! Im giving myself panic attacks and nightmares that I wont have the money to pay my vendors that I'll be able to pay everything but the hall. Im FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW Im sure we will all be okay as long as we have each other to vent with

I know a lot of us are in the same boat...your not alone...weddings are just so darn expensive
even with DIYs and cheaper vendors, off season RH- still
FH worked 2 FULL TIME jobs until about a month or so ago and then he got fed up with working 80-90 hrs a week. I tried to get him to cut back but he was determined.
We saved a bunch then, but of course saving slowed down so hes freakin again.
I feel your pain w/ having an FH who cant sleep and is always worrying about $..wedding$ ..house $- its stressful!
You two will get through it though..we all will
Even if we have to cut back and scrimp and save and eat store brand mac and cheese every night for dinner.

After reading this post I want to give everyone a big
its all so crazy. FH and I are trying so hard to save every penny. He might be taking on a different job soon which would be a pay cut for about a year (just when we need the extra $$$!)
its so stressful! I try to remind myself that I dont have to have all the little extra things like programs and menus etc. i am trying to cut more corners but its hard....all prices are just so high!!!
I have 9 months and I dont want to even think about all those 2nd payments I have coming up!

I feel like I wrote this post myself, we are trying to pay everything in cash also, and its rough, cuz when you think your head is above water, a wave comes and smacks you up side the head. and ontop of our own wedding, this year has been a marathon wedding year in my FH family, one cousin and two of his sisters getting married practically back to back..it ***** but we try to stay as organized as possible and try to budget as much as we can too, no movie dates, no dinners out..no splurges...its rough but Im hoping the sacrificing will pay off in the end, just try to be positive, I know its hard cuz Im not the positive one my fh is but thats all we can do

I'm the anxious one in our relationship... FH just acts like things are fine all the time.. I don't know how he does it.
the sacrifice will be worth it in the end, and when the wedding is over you'll feel like a millionaire with all of this extra $$ between not having to pay wedding expenses + gift money.

I feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one stressing. I had like a break down the other day. It gets scary when you actually look at the whole picture.....
I know it will be hard and it is going to be a struggle, but it is worth it...
Plus i have all you girls to go to when i have a breakdown and i know you will be here to cheer me up. we are all going through this together so we all know what it feels like.....

its getting so bad that I flipped on Dom last night about wanting me to buy him a 4.00 can of soup for dinner. I could not beleive that I did that
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went food shopping last night and it was the first time in a long time i didn't pass out when we got the total...i think i'm getting numb to it....
FH has never lived on his own before so I don't think he realizes what the first few grocery bills are going to add up to since we'll need everything

I'm another bride you can add to the 'stressing about money' list!! So much so that FH and I sold our condo and moved back in with my parents Hey - you gotta do what you gotta do, right? Only thing is I feel like we are still not saving any more money!
Is anyone thinking of getting a second/part time job?? I really want to, but am so scared that it will but me over the edge!
