At my job I'm a producer of events. (It's really not all that fun.) Anyway, as a producer I get rewarded when it does well with profit share. When an event is cancelled (even when upper management was told it should never have happened in the first place) we get penalized and are basically in a hole with a profit share. I finally dug myself out of the hole and find out an event was missing from my statements so now I am back in the hole. This was money we were looking to use to pay off the rest of our vendors, my tuition for the fall and other things. I am sick to my stomach now. I work my @ss off for nothing. I really hate this place.
Update: I am officially back in the hole and won't come out of it until the end of the year. This just won't cut it anymore. It felt like things were going to get better, but they just aren't. I told FH it's not worth me staying here anymore if there is nothing to look forward to this year (we could have used the extra money this year!) so I'm going to start looking for a new job. This suckss.

Oh I'm so sorry!!!!!! That totally ***** that they are taking advantage of you!!!!! It will all work out!!!! There are definitely jobs out there, you just need to find the one for you. Good luck to you!

I was a conference coordinator. I hated it and everything-was my fault. Oh and having a life? Not possible. I would see FH maybe once a week and when I did, I was too exhausted to even have a coherent conversation with him..I quit w/o another job- and it was the best thing I EVER did.

Oh so sorry to hear this. I'm in Events Marketing also - I can't imagine doing this job and being doc'd for canceled events UGG!!!! just curious - where do you work? you can FM me if you'd like. I work internally for a media company.
how many other gals on this board are in Event Marketing / planning and thought 'ahhh wedding, this will be EASY for me to plan!' lolol - i joke that i can make decisions about a million dollar super bowl party but can't decide on the color of my bridesmaids flowers for the life of me!!!

See, I actually think I would enjoy this job if there were certain aspects I didn't have to do.

then you are definitely in the wrong place ... you job shouldn't be putting you 'in the whole' makes no sense! you need to find something else for sure
