I need support now, ladies... I am so tired of certain family members trying to make MY wedding about them. This is MY day... I don't ask a lot and I AM (well, we are) paying for this wedding. Yet somehow, these same family members keep assuming that I will just do what they want, invite who they want, even when I have made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that I will not budge on certain things since this is MY day. I am so upset that I could cry... why can't this day just be about me? FH is at the dentist so I feel so alone right now. I just got hung up on by this family member!

Oh Hollie, you may just have to tap that inner bridezilla that has been lurking in there and let these people know that when it's their wedding or their next party, they can do it how they want to.
But for now, you have rules in place and they are all for very good reasons, and you will be damned if someone else is going to try to change the vision of your wedding day that you and FH have planned!!!
Weddings and any major family event for that matter tends to bring out the worst in people. We are already getting the 'we need to invite so and so to the wedding' stuff too, so I hear you completely.
Don't worry about other people. If they want to invite extra people, let them know that anyone without a placecard will be asked to leave by the Maitre'd or your coordinator. The only people that should be there are the ones that you will be happy to have there. Not a bunch of strangers that were invited just for the sake of!!

The worst part is that it is my FATHER! How dare he just assume something when I told him from the beginning that what he wanted was not possible! He hung up on me!

that's great advice...if I was home, I'd do that right now. you are the BRIDE luv- don't let people upset you. anyone that would hang up on you is NOT worth your time when they call again.

Hmmm maybe he thought going the 'if I keep asking maybe she'll give in' route.
For your father to hang up on you is not right, but I'm sure after all of the tensions die down, he'll hopefully see things your way.

Awww, I'm so sorry. If you are paying, then it should be your way. You and your FH are the ones getting married, and htis wedding should be about YOU.
