I am so hurt and angry right now . . . (repost from BHB)

I just had a huge fight with my parents over the size of my bridal party. Yes it is large, but everyone, even all of the kids are important to FH and I and we wanted them in it. Yes, there are a few that we could have gone without asking in retrospect, but it is too late now. EVERYTHING is always NEGATIVE. Nothing about this wedding is ever discussed in a positive light, it's always treated like it is a HUGE inconvenience. Now my parents have never given me a hard time about contributing $$, but emotionally they have been to lunch! 'I can't belive you are doing this, I can't believe you are doing that. People are going to think this and say that.' I am so hurt and upset. As close as I am to my parents they have just not been able to get this whole wedding thing and they are really making it difficult on me and making me feel rotten about my decisions. I guess I am being 'selfish' . . . Is this not mine and FH day? Is it everybody else's? I am on the verge of tears and there is nothing I can do. I never expected that what is supposed to be one of the happiest days in my life to bring misery to so many people (including myself.)

Baby don't worry about it. I have agreed with you on all the decisions we have made together when it comes to our wedding.(even though we made one bad one ) Don't let this get to you. We are all under alot of stress right now. Just let it be. Look at what I've been going through with my health, and other personal matters. Its been a rocky road at times. But we have gotten through all that. I love you with all my heart and soul.

Thanks! I needed that I am just so rotten right now. I have never been made to feel like a horrible person the way I have been made to during this weddin planning . . .I just can't shake the PISSED OFF feeling!

Just reading that post from your FH should be enough reason for you to NEVER let ANYTHING your parents have to say get to you.. Look how adorable he isssssssssssssssssssss omg I wanna cry!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to deal with all of that negativity. I can totally sympathize with you. My father (& sometimes my mom too) is the most negative person. I am so glad they are in Florida during the planning. Well, there are times I miss having my mom's help. But, anyway, I really hope it gets better for you!!!!

Bri- look at what an amazing man you have!!!!!!!!!!! (i know you already know that though )

you guys have been through alot... but youve been through it as a Team, and thats what matters more than anything. I know the other situation sucks, and its not something that you can completely ignore, but look at the reward you get at the end of this journey!! just try to look at that and block everything else out. parents forget that THIS about their children, not them. its hard for them to keep that point straight, but at the end of the day, no matter how hurt and sad your heart is, you have an amazing partner there ready to do whatever it takes to fix it... and who could ever ask for more than that?

you cant choose the family you came from, and you cant change your parents, but look at what an amazing life you are going to have with your new family!!!!!

I have a total od 12 girls and 11 guys in my bridal party.. I think the only way to avoid hearing neg. comments and being hurt is to try and contribute... My FH & I are paying an equal amount or maybe more then my father... this way it doesn't give folks an opportunity for a say so, if they do have a say so..I look at them like they are crazy, because this is my wedding and and I'm putting most of the $$ into it...

Lots of to you! Planning the wedding has been so stressful for me also! Weddings bring out the worst in some people! Just remember it's about the two of you. Sometimes doing that and taking a step back helps me feel better.

You definitely have a keeper!

I'm so sorry that you are going though this. Your fh is so sweet that he posted to you like that. He really loves you. I hope everything works out just tell them it is your day and fh day not theres.

Just look at the man you are marrying! It's all Bulls$%t compared to how awesome your honey is!!!! I think of some of weddings I went to where the groom was such a jerk!!!
