I received a ton of items from Williams Sonoma for my shower. This weekend I went to woodbury commons outlets on my way home from PA. Everything was SO MUCH CHEAPER!! For instance, I received a blender that was $130 and it was on sale for $80!!!! I think I am going to have to return everything and drive back up there to rebuy it. Is that crazy?

Pardon me for sounding judgemental, but do you really need the money? After spending $4000 on invites I would think you'd be financially stable enough to not have to return/ re-buy gifts.
I am sorry that you feel the need to judgmental. Your comment seems slightly inappropriate to me.
On this board, brides spend very different amounts of money on all types of things. I try not to make judgments about a person's behaviors or decisions based upon how much they spend or DON'T spend on something. Just because one bride may have a different lifestyle than you does not mean that you should speak negatively about her.
I have shared many FM's with other big budget brides during the year and a half that I have spent on LIW. It can be very frustrating to constantly see only one range of prices for vendors when in reality, there is an enormous range!! I feel that it is important to add my comments about how much we are spending when other brides ask so that brides who are having higher priced weddings can benefit from LIW too.
It is unfortunate that you felt the need to misuse my post from another thread to insult me. I am sorry for you and others who in the future might be discouraged to provide helpful information for fear that their words might be distorted. Don't bother to respond to me, I will not reply. I don't want to further abuse this forum for personal attacks.
I think the problem is that the other 'big budget brides' as you call them don't constantly talk about money and the higher end of things. You dont often share with us or respond unless you are speaking about how much something cost, how much your registry items were, who bought and didnt buy what...
My comments are off your post topic and I'm sorry to intrude on it, but I can see rainmama's point and I too sometimes get frustrated when I see you post more often then not about money...
That to me is not benefiting the rest of us LIW brides when this is a forum for ALL types of brides as you say....I hope your wedding is the one of your dreams, but I am sad to say your posts often leave me and some others feeling we don't hold up in comparision....meanwhile I don't even know WHO the other 'big budget' brides are and that to me is them showing respect for us all....
Your tone in this post was about getting more money ( IMO) , and some agreed with you, sorry if you felt attacked by those 'non big budget brides' that are looking for your advice and help and comments as a fellow bride and not continual posts about money from someone self admittingly spending much more then some of us have or feel neccesary...
Good luck

it seems a little tacky to be turning in gifts to re-purchase them and to make money off of it. Actually, regardless of how much money you are spending, it seems tacky to me.

Regardless of how much money a bride has or is spending on her wedding, I wouldn't look highly upon running to the outlets to get money out of the gifts her guests generously purchased for her. Personally, I could never see spending my time doing that - I have better things to do...but that's me.

I agree with you.
On the other (off) topic, I am not familiar with the original posters statements about expenses, but I have seen a lot of women called 'crazy' for spending more then the percieved norm for a wedding service. FOr some reason that seems to be ok, but I would love to see what would happen if someone spending less then the perceived norm was called cheap.

I don't see the point of returning gifts to buy them cheaper somewhere else if you didn't pay for them in the first place. I would be annoyed, but I'd move on, especially if money were no object.
