I am so not making my minimum

Maybe they can throw something in instead of paying for food that you won't use. I think the whole point of the min being high on sat nights is so they can make a certain profit from your wedding.

Seems to me that if they let you change the min to a lower number and add let's say a choc. fountain/vienese hour, they would still make the same amount. They would probably be willing to work with you - maybe you can figure out a deal with them.

You girls are so lucky to have a high minimum. I WISH I could have invited more people. I could have easily invited 275-300 A lot of friends arent coming because I couldnt afford it.

extend your family invites to 3rd 4th and 5th cousins invite more family friends
your neighbors if you talk to them
have an li weddings table
it would stink to pay for 10 extra people if you can just fill those seats...

i agree about asking the hall for add ons. 10 ppl less is 1 entire table that they don't have to feed or serve...thats at least worth $1,000...maybe they can throw in a mini viennese? chocolate fountain? extra station?

ETA: tell your hall honestly, that u don't know if you will make your minimum and that you don't want to be on a mad scramble to invite people who really are not THAT close to your heart just to not waste $$ most halls will work with you esp because they know their rep is on the line. after being real even say 'I know some of the girls who have posted reviews on RH's say that most halls will be flexible' this way they know ur computer savvy and in contact with past brides, future brides and more importantly...a review to be posted on the world wide web.

As of now I have about 180 people on our list. There are a few more I am sure will need to be added before I give the final info to my invitation person but my minimum is 190

There is noooooooo way I am making that. Is it really bad to be paying for quite a few people that will not be there? At least I will know the exact amount that I owe my rh.

Anyone want to go to a wedding on 7-11 at Floral Terrace? And I am really not kidding.

I was in the same exact situation, you might remember I fm'd you right before my wedding about that. In the end I was about 10 or so below my minimum... not so bad. What could I do... I just paid FT their balance up to my min and tried to forget about it.
Don't worry it'll work out for you. You've still got several months... you may get closer to the # than you think.

If you are inviting 180 people you have think that you will have anywhere from 130-160 show...its just the way the numbers work.

I did alot of research on the 06 and 07 boards and read lots of threads of how many invited and how many showed up...plus the people who rsvp'd yes and didnt show.

You could end up paying for 30 plus dinners

you should check if your hall throws things in if you don't make your minimum. If not, I'm down for a free meal

i started my guestlist for the first time on sunday...our minimum is 275 and so far i have 240 ppl on the list and i freaked out BUT i still don't have my dads list, and when i was doing it fh was watching football so he wasnt that into it lol, and after i remembered his own friends that he forgot...i also did it quick so i am hoping i am forgetting a decent amount of ppl lol

but yeah sometimes even obvious ppl you'll forget about, go over the list again and show both your parents and make sure you have everybody...what about ppl from work?

Well I already have like 25 people from work coming, they are all like my closest friends. Our problem is that fh has like no family lol.

We will definetly sit down and go over it again. I hope a lot of people do not reply no

My FH has no family either. We have a min of 80 thank god. We are inviting about 120-150.

im in the same boat..my minimum is 140 and i think like 115 are going to be there

but i called CLM and they are giving me the customized menus and the chocolate fountain since im already paying all that money

since that is so close...did you send out std's? maybe if you did, and i think i remember you sharing yours...maybe you can count on more people rsvping yes b/c they knew in advance??? do you think that is a possibility? also, remember to include vendors to make up for some people not showing...our rh said we could if we wanted to...did yours mention that?
