I am so so so upset right now * Update

Ok I know this is not the end of the world but I put alot of work and time into my invites.. I made sure every single part, even the outside envelope was perfect...

So i take them to the post office on Friday and the woman working there was a complete B*ITCH. I was very nice (and super excited) and ask her to hand cancel them. She said 'yup' with an attitude and then asked us to leave. I told her I wanted to wait but she said she could'nt get to it right then... with a huge attitude again. So I said thank you and left.

fast forward to today I am at my parents and i see there invites.. COMPLETELY RUINED. Black ink everywhere ( i mean you can barely read the names on the envelopes) and it was NOT HAND CANCELLED.

My sister and brothers came out this way too.

Just called FMIL and she said hers was a disaster and the crystal on it was broken.

I am so so upset that they are ruined. I am embarrased they look this way, and SO mad that stupid lady lied to me. I really might go in there tomorrow and scream at someone.

I think you should do it. I've heard about this happening many many times. At least they couldve been honest with you and said 'we dont do hand canceling' or whatever, but she blatantly lied to you. Thats messed up.

im sorry your invitations were ruined... but im sure your guests know that your wedding will more than make up for it!

Omg i am so sorry this happened . I would go there tomorrow and speak to her supervisor because wt f you spent alot of money on them and come on they are your wedding invites!! What a b*tch for lying to you.

I am sorry this happened!! I think you need to take your parents invite to the post office and complain, you spent a lot of money and time on your invitations and it's not fair that you were lied too!! I am not sure what they will do for you or if an apology would make you feel better - but they need to know that it's unacceptable. I am sorry

I am going to go tomorrow. I have 2 samples of my ruined invites and a sample of an invite I just recieved that was hand cancelled.

Nothing during the wedding planning has made me really break down and cry until now. I am not exaggerating on how bad they look. You can't evem tell on my parents invite that it says 'Mr & Mrs.' Its just a black smudge across the invite. My mom was actually trying to hide the invites from me because they looked so bad she knew I was going to be upset.

That is terrible. I am so sorry. I agree, you should definetly go in there tomorrow with as many 'ruined' invites you can get and speak to the postmaster. That is ridiculous. Let us know how it turns out.

You should go and ask to speak to a supervisor. It is not going to change the fact that it happened ( which I am really so sorry to hear about). Someone should know about this. That is not right at all. What a B>>>I>>>T>>>C>>>H

Exactly. Ask to see the postmaster general if you need to! Thats horrible and that bish needs to be punished!

I work for the USPS. I have to say in our defense even if they were hand canceled....there are many times that once we send out to plant, they still get put thru the machine even when we say NO.

Thanks ladies...FH is going to go in there tomorrow morning. I am going to be at work from 8-10 tomorrow so I wont be around. Everytime I walk past my counter and see the envelopes I start to cry. I feel like a crazy person. All my family is telling me its no big deal but I guess to me it is because I put SO much effort and money and time into these and now the first impression is a bunch of smeared ink on an envelope that looks like it got lost in the mail for a year.

The woman was so mean when we went in. I actually left there upset because I went in all excited and she completely ruined the mood. I should have known not to leave them with her.. ugh. I do think its a good thing I am not going in there because I think i would initially cry and then be taken out in handcuffs.

however I have a recent invite that was hand cancelled and ours were not. There is nothing on it. It was put directly through the machine.

That sux!! The stupid USPS lost some of my invites, and also a few of my responses. We spend all this money on them, and they go and eff it up

I am so sorry to hear this happened with your invites I just wanted to let you know that my invites had a raised rhinestone embellishment and when i brought them to the PO to ask for hand cancelling, the man behind the desk politely explained that he could hand cancel them however, when the get to the receiving post office, they will still be put through the machine which would most likely ruin the rhinestone embellishment. I had to pay extra for each invite to have a certain stamp on them so they would be hand cancelled at each PO. I do think you should go in and speak to a manager because the woman did not tell you that and chose to ruin the invites instead. That's inexcusable!

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I would definitely complain and at least get the woman punished. Won't change the outcome, but probably would make me feel better.
