I'm the queen of lists. I keep a list for every little friggin thing I do, and it seems to keep me organized. Oh, and file folders. They save my life daily! HTH!

Now I know why i get along so well with you - it's like we're the same person!!!
I love lists!! couldn't live without them...

unfortunatley, I've found that organization is a personal individual thing...you can listen to other's suggestions...but you have to create your own personal system!!!

it took me years to get as organized as i am now...but i finally found my groove!!!

LOL...Oh I have lists, it just the keeping of papers in order and filing them. I get so overwhelmed that I have become a 'shoover'. My lenten promise is to become more organized!

i bought a binder and created dividers which gets certain information, such as contracts or pix of things i like. my dividers are...calendar-a month by month list of things to do
checklist-obviously everything i need to do and stuff like that
budget-i got this from the mini planner from blissweddings.com
caterer-contracts and questions that i asked, foods we liked, etc
flowers-contract and pix of flowers that i like
videographer-contract
photographer-contract and list of pix that we want
dj-contract and songs that he must play or can't play. also has list of songs for cd favors if we decide to do them
dresses-pix and stuff like that. makeup that i like, hair that i like...etc.
officiants-contract and readings that we like
guest list
favors and stuff like that
thank you's
legalities=info for lisence and stuff
contacts-all the names and phone numbers
stationery-invites and papers

basically it is all kept in one place and keeps me organized. but i am a list girl and fh and i have this thing for binders. we love binders.

I am very very organized....

For the wedding I did what other people suggested..bought the file folder and brought it EVERYWHERE with me! Had all my contracts, all my ideas, everything in that folder.

Then, I had a wedding journal that I kept in that file folder, I'd whip it out whenever I had a question for a vendor, or an idea....I'd jot it down immediately.

Another good idea is to keep a pen and paper on your nightstand, so if you have anything in your mind, ...WRITE IT DOWN...you can relax, you don't have to keep going over things in your mind saying, 'don't forget to do this and that'...you won't forget, you wrote it down. (however, I'm still an insomniac)

Now that my wedding is over, I keep one of those dayminder organizers.

I also have this phone book that has a section, 'Important dates', where I PUT EVERYONE's Birthday the second I find it out...so, at the end of each month, I check the following months 'Important Dates', and it's off to the Hallmark store!

I'M SUCH A DORK!!!!!

I had one of those Palm pilot thing once...I almost died, I had everything in there, and one day it just DIED AND LOST ALL MY INFO!!! Besides, I love the feeling of crossing out something on my list when accomplished!

i agree with you about crossing stuff off the list. with the palm pilot things, it just disappears, like you never even had it on file to do to begin with....so even if you did it, who cares, it isn't there to see that you accomplished it.

Well, at least I found the tax papers! LOL....Next weekend I am going through more papers to see what else I can throw out! I bought file folders today and some other bins to store stuff in! I am on my way!

Yup I am the queen of lists too...I keep alot on my computer though because I am a BIG DORK! I even went out and bought a book...'wedding kit for dummies' (can you believe it???? LOL I am such a geek, b/c it has software in it, with all sorts of lists of what kind of questions to ask diff vendors, and budget and guestlist spreadsheets and stuff. Its pretty useful! I have a wedding journal as well, I write things down in there and have different sections within the book. When I get businesss cards I staple them in there....I have a folder for all the stuff I booked already, and a folder for all the stuff I'm still looking for.
Plus I have a hope chest that I store all the things I have made so far...cake topper, stuff to make programs and favors...ect....
