I am so upset right now..

We converted here at the office to WIndows Xp and I had a file with all my wedding stuff, even my newly updated wedding guest list, shower guestlist I sent my sister. EVERYTHING.. and they deleted it.. god only knows what else was on there that no longer is...

I'm crying b/c I am so upset.. I just hope that I still have the hard copy of my guestlist at home...

Marcella...the IT people in your office should be able to get it back for you.

Did you save it on the server or your C drive? They had to drag your c drive over when they upgraded..if they didn't they are MORONS!

They should still be able to recover it...did this just happen??

who is your administer? can you ask him...DH says that they should not delete any files by upgrading...

you also may want to do a search...try the word shower or something...

They already deleted...=( they did it last night and it's gone...I already checked with them.. and what's worse is that I used to email everything to my aol account and aol only keeps emails to a certain date.. I can't frikkin believe it.. ugh.. 8 months of work.. all my notes, ideas, EVERYTHING.. oh god.. I think I'm going to be sick..

Luckily most of my planning is done, but it's just soo sad to see it go you know? I know it sounds stupid.. but all my invitations stuff/proofs.. luckily that's done... it's my guestlist that concerns me.. I need to ransack the apt. tonight and make sure that I still have a hard copy.. it's gotta be there.. I'm sure my sister has a shower list on her pc at home saved, or at least I hope, but that's no biggie..

They didn't let you guys know you were being upgraded?

My co upgraded us to I don't know what (I am on a MAC) and on our server I see my old hd sitting there so I can always access it if I need to. I back up all my stuff on a disk just in case.

Marcella...try this out.

Click on the start button the bottom of the screen, the go to search...and do a search for one of the file names.

There is a possibility it's still out there somewhere, and the file is just buried in the conversion...

Hi guys... I did that already.. I'm actually pretty good at this pc stuff and couldn't find it =(

Thank you so much.. you guys made me feel so much better..

I have FH on the phone, calming me down, and making me laugh...He asked me what was in that folder...I told him what was on there ie, guestlist, my notes, visions....lol he goes. well maybe I should thank them for getting rid of it cause who knows how much more your 'vision' would have cost us lol

too bad for FH we already did all the major damage lol
