I was just watching ' my fair wedding' with David Tuttera and the bride on the show picked the same color from davids bridals as I did for my bridemaids dresses and he HATED IT!!!
I thought it was a beautiful color - it is a blue callled horizon and he said on the show that you need sunglasses to look at it!
I loved it but now I am so upset!!!!
I watch this show religiously because I love his ideas - but know I am so sad about my color.
are there any other brides using the horizon color from davids bridal ?

I won't lie...sometimes David's ideas are a bit over the top and borderline tacky!!
Your wedding should be YOU...not what some designer on TV thinks that doesn't know you from a hole in the wall!!
I think its a fun, festive color!!

I don´t get that show here in Ecuador so I´ve never seen it. But you shouldn´t worry about what anyone thinks besides you and your FH.
My girls tried on that color and with their complexion is looked really good on them. They wanted to order that color. (It didn´t come in the styles that we ended up ordering.) The color is very pretty. If you like it and the girls look good in it thats all that matters!!

David Tuterra is paid to rip apart those brides dreams. If you love your color, then you love your color.
He also believes that everyone has to be in the same dress and shoes.
Also, he just puts people in expensive things that noone would really be able to afford anyway. The last episode I watched was where he put the girls in the changeable wrap dresses that cost $290 each plus alterations and shipping charges. Who the hell want to pay over $300 on a bridesmaid dress.

We looked at that color when we went to DB. I was torn between 2 different colors there.... we were looking for Royal Blue dresses. I didn't really like DB so we ended up not buying any dresses from there..... but if we did horizon might have been the color.
Personally, I prefer having BM color's that POP. it really makes the BP look lively. We did Royal Blue... check out my album pics to get a better idea.
I say stick to the color you picked and don't worry about someone on TV. Go with your gut and your ideas. Trust yourself.

I love vibrant colors! My 2nd color would have been a vibrant purple color I think. I always knew whatever color I'd have... it would be a vibrant color.
Did you get your BM dresses yet? What shade of blue are you doing?

I personally think lots of what he likes is tacky. So I would not listen to him as the be all end all of good taste.
If you love the color that is all that matters! Don't let some overly tanned tv personality change your mind!

i agree - don't second guess yourself. David Tutera shouldn't be the ultimate authority either, he's just 1 guy who goes on TV and changes everyone's weddings around. Its your wedding and you should pick whatever makes you happy!

I really like the color, and it looks good on my bridemaids. I just couldn't believe the horrible things he was saying about it.
Oh well, I am over it - I love the color and I realized that I just can't please everyone - if me and my FH like it than that is all that matters :)

I wouldn't take it too much to heart..the girls on the TV may not be the same complexion as your girls and even if they were you liked them that's all that matters

I originally was going with Horizon, but once I saw it in person I decided it was too bright for my late September wedding. I switched to Marine. Its a navy blue, I felt more at east with it.
However, I have wanted to switch to Lapis like 3 times! But too late now!

Please, I think he's wrong about lots of things he says and does when it comes to style. He said he hates green in a wedding, guess what color my dresses are!! Don't worry, your wedding is about YOUR vision, not the vision of some uptight full of himself wedding planner who has too much to say about everything!

OMG, I just looked up the color and it looks VERY similar to mine. I love David, now I am upset too. He really said that???
Well we could shed some tears together!!! Oh well, I thought it was a great color.

It's a beautiful color. As someone mentioned before, he's paid to rip them apart. I don't think he's supposed to agree with everything (just for the sake of him changing things around).
