i am SOOOOOOOOO upset

ok so as i've posted before, im only having my sister as Matron of honor - and she is pregnant; due the end of october

in my family, we dont 'do' showers
so anyway, one of my closest friends wanted to plan sort or a non-shower shower / get together and told me to keep 2 dates open and i know she is planning some cool stuff

so, i just told my sister and she's all bent out of shape
meanwhile, my sister has not been coming with me to a lot of stuff and i understand, she has a 6 year old, a 4 year old and is 7 months pregnant
but i didnt think she would be this upset!

now im upset and dont want to tell my friend
i was so happy that she was doing this for me

I am sure that everything will work out. you guys are sisters and sisters can always work out stuff like this! It will blow over, I'm sure of it!

she is upset because she said she should not be 'invited' to anything regarding my wedding and that she should be the one doing the inviting

Is there a way for her to get involved?

i slept horribly because im still so upset about this
im going out to long island now
my invitations are at my moms so i'll bring home a sample

i just hope my sister understands and is in a better mood today

i hate being upset

awww don't be upset - this should be one of the happiest times in your life. you shouldn't feel bad about anything. its nice that you have such a thoughtful friend who wanted to have a GTG for you <3. things will work out with your sister.

i have a feeling this type of situation may happen to me too but with my Mom and FMIL. My family is in Florida and they don't really have the money to do things for me and I have a feeling that FH's family is going to help us with little things - like maybe the wedding invitations or favors and I can already see how my Mom might be upset that she can't or isn't involved in those things.

As much as we say that we shouldn't let people upset us and all, I know it is tough when it's your sister. Hopefully things will settle down once you talk it out and she will realize that the gtg/shower was not YOUR plan.

Maybe she will want to be involved and can talk to your friends about planning.
