Soo....I hate to be the Debbie Downer but you all know my nutrition background....

Acai has NOT been proven to have any 'detox' or 'cleasning' benefits. It provides antioxidant support, so your body can fight free radicals, but other than that, nada. And an Acai 'cleanser,' depending on what else they put it in it, whether its whole berry acai or standardized extracts *could* mean there's very little of 'real' Acai berry or juice in the product. And it could definitely cause diarrhea, especially if the cleanse mandates that this is all you drink for 48 hours, you may very well become dehydrated.

I think if you're interested in doing some type of detox or cleanser, there's other ways of going about that will be a little 'softer' so to speak on your body, while still providing benefits. Once you start a detox like the Acai, your body is rapidly using up vitamins and minerals and other nutrients your body needs.

You could start with something as simple as taking a Probiotic Acidophilus, which helps regulate digestion. Or take an Acai *supplement* in addition to a multivitamin, and a diet and exercise plan. Fiber supplements, when taken 30 minutes prior to a meal, can help 'fill' you up, but your body needs to adjust to taking extra fiber, which can mean it can wreak havoc on your tummy for a few days. You can up your B-12 intake, but check with a DR fist, because since its water soluble whatever your body doesn't need will get peed out, but B-12 or any B vitamin for that matter, can help support your energy metabolism. Chromiuim Picolinate, Green Tea, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Tonalin are also supplements you can look into. I know you know there's no quick fiz, but there are definitely ways to speed it along

hmmmmmmmmm....well this isn't just straight drinking for 48 hours. You continue to eat (healthy) for the 48 hours while taking this 4x a day....

do u think I should stop taking it? I haven't had any 'effects' yet and don't feel any different, just that disgusting smell and taste that I had to drink this morning!

I did one that was a 3 month cycle. One pill a day. It didn't give me the effects that some people experience, though. It was more gradual, I guess because it was over more time. It def worked for me, so much that I didn't finish.

i must say this is the most disgusting thing I have ever drank in my entire life.......

this morning I only mixed it with water, and I was literally almost passing out from the smell and taste.....I just had it a little while ago and mixed it with arizona iced tea (my fav) and it wasn't AS bad, but still gross.....

i have had none of the problems we all thought I would have, thank god!!!!!!!! well, only one more day to go!

ITA. Detox thingys really are quick fixes and any detox where you are adding a chemical based product isn't really a wise detox. I like the raw veggie and fruit, green tea water detox. All natural, nothing but what you just read. Do it for 1 to 3 days, and it helps to cleanse you the right way. U go to the bathroom, and you feel lighter for sure. But you don't cause problems for yourself, like the runs or shakes. Because you are eating to be fufilled.

And I love probiotic! I take one everyday.

Honestly, if you haven't had any adverse side effects, I'd continue taking it but I'd keep in mind you may not 'see' any real benefits, if they are claiming weight reduction, you may typically only lose water weight to begin with, which we all know comes right back the minute we even *think* of eating something I mean, no, Acai has not been known to 'harm' anyone, there aren't any known side effects for it, so as long as you take it as directed you should be OK. When will you see benefits? Who knows....its impossible to predict since everyone's body is different, but you never know
