I broke my favorite necklace - update!

I'm the biggest klutz with my hands. I drop and break everything. MIL got me a beautiful glass necklace when she was in Italy and I have worn it non-stop since she gave to me.

I didn't realize that I left it on the bathroom counter under a some clothes. When I took the clothes, the necklace sild on the tile floor. It was seriously my new favorite thing.

I have to tell DH that it's broken because he'll notice that this is the first day that I'm not wearing it. I don't want to tell MIL; she doesn't know the extent of my klutziness. I feel awful that it's broken.

The worst part is I can't replace it. She bought it in Positano.

oh no - I am so sorry. I can totally relate to klutziness, although FH says I am a klutz with myself cause I am always loaded with bruises from falling, tripping, walking into things

Is it a little broken or a lot broken? Maybe you could take it to a jewelry store to get fixed?

The pendant broke kind of in half and then I found 4 smaller pieces. I got to work late seeing if I could piece it together to maybe fix it. I'll have to see. My dad is good with that stuff so I might have him try to fix it. Or maybe DH can try. My klutz hands can't fix anything.

I'm so sorry Mel! I hope your dad can fix it. They sell clear apoxy (really strong stuff) so maybe that will work.

I'm sorry... if nothing else, maybe you can make into a ring, or a smaller necklace? Or a bracelet? Maybe a PART of the glass can be used somehow? Maybe earrings? I'm sure your MIL would be flattered to know that you're heartbroken over it. I can tell it meant a lot to you... I hope it works out!!

that ***** - I do that kind of stuff all the time. like when I wore my favorite shirt of all time when I got my hair highlighted before the wedding and it got totally ruined. i'm still sick about it. i'm sorry

But I saved the box that it came in and I can order it! I cannot believe it - I thought that it was going to be impossible to find

I LOVE it! The color is so pretty - and it is very unique which is the #1 thing I look for in jewelry Wow - how amazing that your MIL pulled through with an awesome gift - mine doesn't even really try
