I just made the call to cancel my baby shower tomorrow. It was at a restaurant in Hoboken, and a few people had started the telephone chain worrying about the weather, so I went ahead and cancelled it.
I am super sad about it - my mom came down from Boston for it, and I dont know about rescheduling. They have next Saturday available, but they aren't sure on the Sunday - and being that stores aren't open in this area on Sundays, I feel really badly postponing to Saturday so close to the holidays. I am sure everybody has tons of shopping and so on.
Plus I don't really know how to go about re-scheduling? Do I just call everybody if we do that? I am sure the turn-out wont' be as good - and we have to pay for 35 people to have the place - we had just 35 coming this time around, and I am sure we'd lose a few this way....plus we lose our deposit if we dont' reschedule, but I guess that's not a big deal in the long run. What would you do?
Oh well. Guess it wasnt' meant to be. Mother Nature got the best of me!!!!

Re: I cancelled my shower.
I agree reshcedule when you want it. Since I live a 1000 miles away from home (NY), my husband and I will be there for Christmas so my family decided to throw me a shower the 21st of this month. I thought it would be tight with the holidays but as I've found out no one cares, they all want to do this for us. So I wouldn't worry. Those that can be there will be there, otherwise I'm sure they will ship the gifts or wait until your baby is born.
