Westbury Manor!!!!! There's carpeting everywhere but the dance floor, but the walls are mahogany. I believe all their rooms overlook their grounds.

Vanderbilt mansion in oakdale is beautiful! it might come out to be too $$, but i would look into it. the CH would be in the gardens surrounding the mansion and in the courtyard...and the Reception would be in a tent on the grounds that they have set up during Fall, spring, summer. you have a view of the water from almost every point on the grounds, it is amazing and absolutely gorgeeous! there is a site fee of 7500 and then u would have to get a caterer. If u could get a good price on a caterer it may be worth it. if u look at it they will take u around and show u pics of past weddings. if u go to the lessings website.... www.lessings.com you can find some pics on there. go to weddings, and click on Vanderbilt Mansion Oakdale....then click on weddings again and they will show u a bunch of pics of the grounds and tent.
If u are loking for a more traditional type of hall My other suggestions are CLM, Venetian yacht club, swan club. (those were ones that i looked at ...they were all really nice)

HAMLET AT WILLOW CREEK IN MT SINAI!!! Thats what I wanted, I went there and was FLOORED!!!! I can go on and on. FM me or IM me at matchbox20270 on instant messenger for more details. I can not reccommend that place enough and its in ur budget...with tax & gratuity!
I am getting married at HWC in May... It is AMAZING. Barbara is a dream to work with... they go above beyond and THEN some to accomodate you. The menu is crazy and the place is gorgeous. It is the ONLY part of my wedding that I am totally, completely and 100% not worried about so far.
(Sorry to crash! But I wanted to put in my little 2 cents!)
Yes the Hamlet Willow Creek is a dream... seriously check it out! Price is right and sounds like what you might be looking for!

Fox Hollow isn't on the water though but I love it anyway!
miss that part of the post
Actually Fox Hollow has pretty gardens, wood floors and fireplaces! It's fairly reasonable. OP should consider checking them out!
ETA: FM me for pricing. I was told Sept. and Oct. is their peak time (of course when I chose to get married ) But I will be happy to give you an idea.

Thank you all for your suggestions. FYI I called the the Crescent Beach Club and the guy I spoke with was over-the-top rude, I wish I had gotten his name to complain.
Thats too bad. I wanted to have my wedding ther but there was no way I could afford it.

All of these places look great, I looked at the Royalton today and I love it. I am considering changing from a sat night to a friday, just to have it there.

Lombardi's on the Sound is beautiful...it overlooks the Long Island Sound and they have a beautiful garden area for an outdoor ceremony. Their rates are pretty reasonable considering whats included. GOOD LUCK!

Re: I cannot find a reception place....
I would prefer one wedding at a time. But it wouldn't be the biggest part of my decision.

Re: I cannot find a reception place....
I know everyone is recommending their RHs but I truly feel like the Bridgeview Yacht Club is great! You have a HUGE CH room that is along the water, there is an enormous wooden bar thats through the entire room, there is a fireplace a leather couch and a great view! Then you go into the main dining area and there is not hard wood but it is gorgeous with a water view from everywhere...you feel like you're on a boat, its great!

Ditto...Riviera is on the water and one wedding at a time and may even be lower than your price range! Oh, and it has hard wood floors!
