i cant stand when....

i cant stand when people whose parents are paying for 99% of their wedding CONTINUOUSLY complain to me about the ONE thing that their parents are making them pay for ugh, and then tell me you can relate to my situation (im paying for my ENTIRE wedding).....UMM NOOOO!! i would LOVE to be in your shoes....STOP COMPLAINING TO ME YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET ANY SYMPATHY!!!!

ahaha so funny you say this bc someone close to me got a good sum of money from his parents and he still had the nerve to go back to them and complain about something else and ask for more money! Like seriously, what did you think you were suppossed to use that money for?

wow...seriiously ..i hate when people..do that ...get over urselfs and pay at least for one thing!!!!1

I AGREE 100%, i am sorry its not to offend anyone whose parents are paying for the majority of your wedding, good for you if they are. But i'll give an example of somebody not from this board but not another board to keep it safe hahahaha. But before i found LIW, i used to go on the knot. There was a girl complaining about having to pay for her open bar, in other states you pay for that separately. She also mentioned how her parents were paying for the ENTIRE wedding and only had to pay for the open bar and it was too much money and she didnt want to pay for it so she said she was gonna do cash bar. They were asking for $5k for the open bar, and if you havent paid for one thing then honestly its really not bad at all, i think all of us can say that we wish we were spending a total of 5k. It was ridiculous and I couldn't even believe, and exactly like you said, do you expect sympathy? and another thing i don't get is this, what would you have done if your parents weren't paying for your wedding youre both adults and decided to get married, how do you make such a huge decision BUT expect for somebody else to pay for everything else and not want to take any responsibility. IF parents didn't help then you'd have a whole lot more to pay than just $5k.

We paid for the majority of the wedding and it was VERY hard.

i once knew a girl who parents gave her two options they would pay for wedding or give her a down payment of payment fpr a house. Now the downpayment for the house would be more money then wedding. She was complaining that they should give have given her same for the wedding as the downpayment of the house. .

i know the grass always seems greener (and i'm not saying it's not in this case) but you get to call all the shots when you are paying. you have to accommodate what other people want when they are contributing.

My parents are paying for the majority of our wedding, but trust me, we are VERY thankful and paying for what we can- HM, invites, our rings, accessories, gifts, etc.

We are a young couple and are struggling as it is and I am lucky enough that my parents wanted to pay for it. Hopefully we can use any money we get from the wedding for a down payment on a home.

I would NEVER complain, I feel guilty enough as it is!!!

same here! ive been trying to nickle n dime everything bc they want us to use just what they had given us... not to have to take money out of our pockets... which we are definately so grateful for! they hope that whatever we get from the wedding can go towards a condo! both sets of parents are awesome and we couldnt ask for anything more! (and would never DARE to)

or maybe we just don't need to b**ch about people at all?

just remember that there are all kinds of girls on here and you don't know where they are coming from. maybe paying for the dj is really hurting them.

I think she may have just been complaining and venting about something that has bothered alot of us, even the majority of those on the boards.... ALot of us are struggling with paying for the entire wedding, so, like me, she is probably upset that some people can not just be greatful for what they have been given...

with that being said

i could not agree more!!!!!!!!
