I can't take it anymore....

Original post by prncssrachel

I just need to vent because I feel like I am going to explode inside.
I have had the unfortunate experience of living with my parents before my wedding. We did it to help save money, but it is not worth all the money in the world as far as I am concerned. Everyday lately, I am reverted back to being 8 years old when my mother SCREAMS at me for different things. I am 26 years old. I do not need to be screamed at by ANYONE. I don't care who they are.
I was awake for about 5 minutes this morning when my mother started FREAKING out because of stupid minutia for my wedding. She was mad at where the hair dresser wants to do everyone's hair. Fine, is that a reason to scream F-CK YOU at me? Apparently it was a good enough reason for her. I am starting to hate my own mother. She treats me like I am some piece of sh-t on the street.
Then, after screaming at me, she tries to turn it around on me and say that it's all ME. That she can't TALK TO ME. Well, no, not when I've been awake for less than five minutes and YOU are freaking out. I don't want to talk to her when she's like that.
She's ALWAYS miserable. All she ever does is complain about how terrible her life is. I know, it must be SO hard to live in a brand new house, drive a brand new car, make your own hours at work and have my father cater to you. It's a terrible life She complains EVERY SINGLE DAY when she gets home from work that she's TOO OLD for working (she's 52!), and that no one else has the right to be tired because she does so much more than the rest of us. Meanwhile, my poor father drives over an hour each way to work everyday and works WAY MORE than my mother EVER WOULD and he NEVER complains. My mother is so f-ing psycho. I just cannot take it anymore. I try not to feed into it. I never yell back at her and I try to walk away, but it's SO hurtful when you're mother is screaming f-ck you to your face a week before your wedding. I just cannot wait to get the hell out of this house and never look back.
Thanks for letting me vent. I just needed to get that off my chest

Spring for a hotel room the night before the wedding and get ready there if that would help. I loved being alone for a little while before the craziness started......

Rachel, hang in there, you only have a couple of days.
I used to have tons of problems with my mom, and now, we have such a good relationship due to the fact that we don't live together anymore; it does make a big difference.
Just think ahead, a couple of days it will be only you and fh

i know what it is like, my dad would do this sometimes to me and that was long before I was getting married. ( He passed away 4 yrs. ago.) I think they get fustrated becuase they think of you like a little kid still even though you r an adult.
Try to stay strong , your day will be here before you know it.
If you need to talk, FM mail me.

Re: I can't take it anymore....

Thanks ladies. Luckily, my mom came to her sense about a half hour ago and called me to apologize...BUT she did give me a little dig about how it's actually ME who needs to calm down. I have been going about my business peacefully, so WHATEVER TO HER! But I AM happy she apologized. She's just a total nut job.

I know how you feel. My mom is always mean to me, and she's only nice when it suits her. She's depressed and always takes it out on me and my dad. I go back to visit occasionally, and always end up upset by the end of the trip. She says that crap about being too old too. Only, my mom acts as if she's 80 and has nothing else to live for. Don't worry, its not too much longer that you have to live there. Just remember, it is HER problem, and it really doesn't have anything to do with you. FM me if you want to talk

By any chance is your mother an only child?

She sounds similar to my mom and I blame it on the'only child syndrome'! She ALWAYS wants things her way, and yes, we fight like cats and dogs, but the difference is that we rarely hold grudges.....

rach, sorry to hear about your mom crazyiness i can relate becuase we moved in with my parents after getting married becuase we couldnt get into the house for 2 months and I hated coming home and had no privacy and my mother asked tons of questions about where michael was so instead of a wedding countdown now you have a house countdown.

Wow... sorry you have to deal with that so close to your wedding!!!

Hang in there - just a few more days!!

The countdown is on, sista. Let it go in one ear and out the other. Your poor Dad...after you and JT move out the only one she'll have to b!tch at is him

I'm glad your mom apologized! Like you and a lot of other brides on here, I also fought with my mom ALL THE TIME during the wedding planning. There was one BIG fight in particular...
We got married the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. We spent Thanksgiving together as a complete family (my parents, DH's parents, my sisters family, DH's brother, etc) at DH's aunt's house. My mom and I got into such an argument (it got really LOUD!) that night that I actually told her not to come to the wedding. We were both crying and she ended up apologizing to me. It was mostly embarrasing because it was in front of DH's entire family but at least we had the big blowout! She realized how selfish she was being. I usually keep things inside and I had just gotten to the boiling point of her treating me like sh!t.
Like most of the other people said, once the pressure of the wedding planning goes away, your relationship should definitely improve. If not, there is always caller ID

Thanks for sharing with me, girls. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one! (Not that I am happy any of you had to go through the same thing.) Sometimes when you are upset, it's hard to imagine that anyone else can relate. So thank you!
