You cannot compare yourself to other people. Someone will ALWAYS have more, bigger, better, newer, cleaner, more expensive whatever! You have to be happy with you and with what you have.
You will have a beautiful wedding just the way you planned it!!!
I agree and be thankful for what you have also..because there are always others who have it worse as well

dont worry kim.. if a DW is the first thing you and FH thought when you got engaged then its ment to be!!! its going to be geat.... did you and fh ever think of taking a weekend trip to aruba to the hotel that the wedding will be at to take a 'test drive'??? maybe it will cost a little bit but i think it would reassure you that your doing the right thing.. or maybe show you that this just isnt for you????

im trying very hard to get him to take me! if not him im gonna try to convince mom...i just wanna see it ...and that will assure me everything will be ok i mean just imagine you girls not even seeing ur RH...its sooo nerve racking

i would book a 3 day 2 night trip... to go down and just do what u need to do to make sure you feel comfy with the place! im sure your mom would go if FH wont!

I think that's a great idea. I think you'd be so much more at ease if you got to see the resort before you got married there. Plus, it would ease a lot of anxiety on your wedding day itself because you'd be already familiar with the place and know the layout of the resort. Plus, you could use a mini-vacation, couldn't you? Maybe Aruba is like other warm-weather places and is cheaper in the summer? (Everyone wants to get away from the cold and go to the Carribean in the winter).

Honestly, we definately over think these things...I know how you feel. I'm going nuts trying to plan 'the perfect wedding' but what's perfect to you may not be ideal for someone else...ultimately ITS YOUR AND YOUR DH DAY!!!! I think the idea of a DW is fantastic. I would definately do what you want for your day....but honestly how bad could it be...you will be on a gorgeous beach in Aruba with cool blue waters and white sand beaches exchanging vows with the love of your life in the sunset....that's a dream wedding!!!!

i totally understand. just make sure that this is really what you want!... its important that this be the best day of your life and your happy!... thats my probelm... im mad a FH cuz hes getting the wedding he 'dreamed' of.. and i feel like nothing i want is being taken into consideration. but he has takled me into this big wedding that it will be great blah blah blah.. so im just praying that it really is the best day of my life... we shall see.. good luck kim.. being unsure is totally normal... if you ever need to vent just FM

Oh Kim, I can't imagine what your going through! If it helps, even just a little bit, you know how said for us to picture not even seeing our RH? Well, just think of your wedding as having it's very own wedding planner!
Perhaps you can get a relatively inexpensive weekend vacay to Aruba - like a last-minute travel deal?
I'm sure your wedding will be breathtaking!!! Hang in there!

You may be thinking of this all now because of the wedding saturday, but just think of all the positives you have of a DW. If you're worried that you won't have control, constantly call the hotel and speak with the people in charge of the services constantly. I am sure they won' t mind.

1- u want a destination wedding!! i mean the other wedding is beautiful too but ur wedding will be a dream no matter what.
2- people who matter and who want to see u get married will go so dont sweat it
3- wear poofy and do whateva u wish! ITS UR WEDDING. my sis went ot a wedding on a beach and the girl had a full length gown on the beach...
just kno u made the right choice for u n FH....it will be a dream bc u are marrying ur honey...even if it were at a chucky cheese (ok ok im exaggerating)
and yes..i will come if u want me to! haha jk...ok not jk..
