I did my own trial

Original post by thelilacone

I know that this is kind of a repost, but I just wanted some feedback on my look. This is my day-to-day look, but since i'm a simple girl, I think I want something this natural for the wedding as well. I used L'Oreal products.

What do you gals think?

You have great cheekbones that need to be accentuated! The lipstick is WAY too bright, There's nothing wrong with doing your own makeup but I would get advice from some makeup counters. Good Luck!!!

Re: I did my own trial

lipglossjunky73: yes i did change my user name. I put a thread about the name change in the late afternoon about it.

Just to let you all know, these picks were taken after a very long day, and I didn't touch up the eyesshadow or the mascara, just the foundation and the lipgloss. Yes, that's lipgloss I'm wearing, but my FH even agrees that that shade is not right for me. The eyeshadow I used were shades of green, but for the wedding day I'm going to use purples. And I'm also thinking of getting some eyeliner, although I think I'm too chicken to put it on myself, but I'll give it a try.

Thanks so much for all the input gals. Maybe after Easter when I have my weekends to myself again I'll take a trip to the Broadway Mall Macy's and hit up the makeup counters.

Thank you again.

IMO- you need to go darker on the eyes and more dramatic. You need eyeliner and a dramatic mascara. Also that lip color is not right for you. It does not mix with your skin tone at all. Its very very red in pics. I would reccomend you go to the makeup counter at the mall and ask them to help you match shades to your skintone. I like the blush you picked.

Sorry, that is JMO.

Have to agree.
You have gorgeous eyes and should use makeup to accent them. The lipstick is way too orange for you, you would look great with a pink tone or maybe even a gloss instead of a lipstick.

It does not hurt to stop by a Dept. store makeup counter and let them work with you.

I agree as well. definitely put more emphasis on your eyes and make them 'pop'. and the lip color could be more natural if you used a lip liner and filled in your lips and then a clear gloss. JMO...HTH!

Try some false lashes to play your eyes up in addition to eye-liner,the MAC counter should be able to apply them for you and suggest a good length.

Yes- softer lip color would be better.

I agree totally. You seem to be capable of doing a good job w/your make up but free advice and tips are always great. I wear MU daily and I still learned a lot of new tips after having 6 Trials!!! (5 or 6... too many to remember)

I have to agree with the above... I feel like all I'm seeing is your lips!

You have gorgeous big eyes, I would accentuate them a bit more, and allow your lips to speak for themselves, as it were. They are great and full, so a nice pink or sheer gloss will do beautifully.

sorry, but i have to agree with the rest of the ladies... i feel like the lip color is just too much. when you have nice full lips like you have, you don't need a strong lip color- i would definitely go with something softer....

Since you're doing it yourself with no cost, play around with different colors. I agree with more dramatic eyes and a lighter lip counter. A makeup counter should be able to help you with colors that are right for your skin tone.

You're beautiful and need to enhance that!
