i ordered a lace dress and they told me that they pin the scalloped edge to the end of the dress so they can alter the length and add the edge back on. or they alter it from another hem, like at the waist, etc. dont worry i am so sure they know what they are doing!
they take it up from a different seam. like the from the waist. atleast this is what they're said they're going to do with my gown when i go for alterations...dont worry, i'm sure u wont lose ur edging
I asked the woman the same thing. They take it from another seam in the dress.
I am not sure how your dress is constructed, but the hem of my dress is scalloped as well, and my alterationist is taking it up at the waist, rather than the hem, to shorten it
my dress has a similar bottom... i was told they alter from the waist...
they can do it...I have details through out my dress...they make it work...
my dress is lace at the bottom and has a deign too, you do not loose it when they hem... just had my 2nd fitting last night and the dress was perfect
I think the women for my dress said they cut the lace off, hem it, and put the lace back on.
