I don't get it! Lobster

So I had lobster for the first time last night. I just never had a desire before (they are practically related to insects), and truth be told, I wasn't that impressed. What is with all the hoopla about lobster? I am sure it doesn't help that I don't like butter, plus I injured myself on one of the lobsters ( stupid sharp claws - only I could draw blood at a nice dinner out!). Am I the only one that isn't that 'into' lobsters?

I think it's okay. DH would make it his last meal if he were on death row. We were at China Grill the other night and he pouted because we all didn't want the lobster mashed potatoes.

Lobster is the BEST!!!!! did you have it steamed or broiled? That may change the flavoring. For me it's a great treat. Some restaurants de claw it for you which makes it easier to eat. For me, I love the dipping in butter I lobe the sweet taste

I LOVE IT! the claws are my favorite though! There is actually one special piece of the lobster meat-the very white corner tip of the claw thats my absolute favorite-sounds odd maybe-LOL Well, DH always saves it for me knowing how much i love that piece...

i love it! it is my favourite. i prefer it steamed and then to dip it in garlic butter. yum.

Lobster is okay... I like lobster ravioli out of all the dishes I've had with lobster (amd lobster bisque) but I wouldn't die if I couldn't ever have it again.

I'm OK with lobster, but I'm not a huge fan either. I like it with butter. The lobster raviolis and lobster bisque are awesome tho, YUM!!!

you like the claws? i always loved the tail better. the claw has a wierd texture to me.

I am a fan of lobster. I think it's pretty darn good. but I like pretty much anything that comes out of the ocean...

Maine lobster, whilst in Maine, is awesome. lobster rolls..steamed sweet yummy lobster...

dammit! I'm off to Maine.

i actually have always waitressed in seafood places....and never understood the attraction of lobster....now I am currently working at red lobster and have tried lobster tails cooked many ways...live maine lobsters...both rock and maine tails

Personally for me i think lobsters are just too much work (same with crab legs) and i am not crazy about the texture of the meat.

However I have learned that I like the flavor of Maine Lobster as opposed to Rock Lobster. Lobster chops are my favorite, b/c they have a scampi style sauce on them as opposed to just dipping them in butter. However I still do not enjoy Lobster to the point that I would order it as my meal.
