Ok so.........Three 'friends' cant come to my wedding. Ok that's fine. Well the one I come to find out I think isn't coming so she doesn't have to invite us to hers. What! I thought we were friends. So my other friend (one of my BM) tells me that ___ has to keep her guest list to a min. Ok don't we all. She then go to say that 'you know ____ and how she is I don't think she is going to invite you guys.' OMG I am really upset. I thought we were friends. I mean I know we don't see each other a lot but I now live upstate NY. I cant help that. Every time I am on the Island and we 'all' hang out I see her. What! I feel like the people I thought were my 'FRIENDS' are not. So then who are my real friends? Anyway I just needed to vent I feel you girls are my only friends!

Im sorry you are dealing with this-unfortunately weddings bring out the worst in people and you find out who really cares and who doesnt

I know exactly what you mean! Luckily my 'best friend' is a tie - FH and my sister. I have lots of female friends, but as long as I have FH and my sis, I have all I need!

Wow, that is upstate (I thought you would say something like Westchester because a lot of people from NYC and LI consider that upstate even though it's like 30 minutes from the city).
I'll tell you what I just told my aunt who moved last month. Join clubs! It seems high school, but it's a very good way to get out and meet people.

I absolutely learned who my good friends and not so good friends are after I got engaged. It's almost like my group of friends split into the ones that are truly happy for me and the ones that are not-- they just haven't made anything easy. Unfortunately, it's not the ones I expected.

I am sorry to hear that~ it's a shame but so true that weddings are real eye openers as to who your true friends are. Look at it as a blessing. You don't want anyone at your wedding that isn't truly there for the two of you. I myself have had an 'eye opener' as well. You are better off!!!!

Well...here's my story. I have about 3 good friends. All of which I do not know if they will be a part of my future and that's something that I want my maid of honor to be. I am an only child with no brothers or sisters. Who knows who will be my maid of honor, let alone come to my wedding..lol.....Cheer up girl. The day is about you and your FH!!!!

I'm sorry darlin. I learned a long time ago that girls are usually a-holes. Especially when it comes to things like weddings. After I got engaged, my 'best friend' ditched me. Not only that, she came to my house and egged mine and my fiancees car. Nice huh? Lesson learned is, times like these, you really learn who your friends are. Shake it off. You're going to have a great time. With or without them.

Hang in there! As everyone has already said weddigns can bring out the worst in people and be glad you know where she stands before you spend money on someone who could be so childish and not enjoy your day with you! Don't let this ruin your planning experience this is your day and time to shine. Enjoy it!

i'm so sorry u're hurting u think the girl could atleast be upfront with u about it..unfortunately things like this happen. I felt so bad for my hubby at ours, because people he truly considered CLOSE friends didn't come..and he grew up with them since kindergarten. hang in there! that day they wont be a thought in ur mind & you'll STILL have the best day of ur life!

Im sorry sweetie.. I unfortunetly know all too well how that is...
Unfortunetly we find out who are 'REAL FRIENDS' are when we are planning a wedding.
I had a best friend for 15 years that decides she is just not going to show up to my shower and I even had the nerve to invite her to my wedding and YUP the day the response card was due she sent it back that she is not coming...
This is a happy time for you - and I hate to say this but try not to let it bother you .. i know it hurts I cried for days weeks months about it and i was even upset on my wedding day

same here... isnt that crazy how that happens?!?! one totally has not spoken to me since my engagement after ive tried making contact with her and askin her whats up... but then theres others that are happier than you to be planning your wedding

A friend who was pretty much going to be my MOH just dropped off the face of the planet like a month after the engagement was announced. A real friend will not blow you off you like this!
Life-changing events always show us who will be there through thick and thin. FH says f anyone who acts like we're imposing by wanting them to share in our joy.
Asa result I'm only having family in the wedding. My family never lets me down
