i don't know what's up with me. i don't think i like my dress anymore. but with exactly 6 months to go, there's not much i can do.
i have a big tulle ballgown and now i wish i had gotten a smaller, a-line gown. i feel huge in the darn thing. it pulls me into a weird hourglass shape which makes my waist look small, but the rest of me look monstrous.
here's one pic where i looked pretty happy about my dress:
i just don't know. i already switched my photographer, which i KNOW was a great decision. i don't know if i'm just stressed out (i am) or if i really don't like it.
when i bought it, i really really liked it...but didn't love it. but i couldn't find anything else i liked better for weeks, so i got it.

Re: i don't like my dress anymore
I felt the same way as you. I loved my dress when I first ordered it. It made me cry and I felt beautiful in it. I was so excited about it and then when it finally came in, the excitement wore off and I didn't like it as much. The salon gave me a huge slip and I felt massive in it. I did not originally try the dress on with such a big slip. I started to have doubts about the dress and at the second fitting I decided I wanted a less poufy slip. I talked it over with the seamstress and tried on other slips. One of the women there explained that we're not used to wearing dresses like these so it seems really huge when in fact, the dress is a ballgown and is meant to come out a lot. After looking at the dress with different slips, I started to agree with her and decided to keep my slip. It took a while for the idea, look, and feel of a huge ballgown to grow on me, but it did. I didn't feel huge at all on my wedding day and received a lot of compliments on my dress. I truly loved it. I think a lot of people go through this phase. If you really feel like you will be miserable in the dress, get another one. However, I think it looks great on you. Hopefully you will start liking your dress again.

Okay this is coming from someone who doesn't like tulle ballgowns: I really think the dress looks pretty on you. Some tulle dresses have a tendency of looking kinda cheap because the tulle is poor quality but yours looks beautiful! I even consulted with FH and he said you look great too!

thanks everyone for your nice words.
i don't know what it is...i just don't feel it. it's hard to walk around in. i don't even have my slip on with it...and the slip is MONSTROUS!! it's n.y.bride's and it's as big as the dress. ahhhh!!!!!
i just feel like i'm going to look like a guidette. with my tiara, hair all up and this monstrous dress, i think it's too much. and i have been searching for a veil to match for months!! i make the poor woman at lilettes crazy each time i go in. she's such a sweetheart thank god for dealing with me.
i just don't see many pics of brides in tulle ballgowns so that doesn't help me. i wish there were more. i'm one of those people who doesn't like to be the only one doing something. i like to blend in.
First off, the dress is gorgeous. Second, N.Y.Bride looked fabulous and she had a dress just like yours! So no worries...

I think you look beautiful as well but you need to feel comfortable. I exchanged my original dress 2 weeks ago with only 3 1/2 month until my wedding so maybe it can be done.

Seriously, I think the dress looks absolutely stunning!!! I understand your point though. When I ordered my gown, I was on cloud 9. I felt like a princess!! I really did. It was sparklie & it has tulle & crystal beadwork on the whole bottom, too. Then, as I was laying down to go to sleep, I was like, 'Wait a minute. Am I going to look like one of the little 3 year old girls that wear those Disney Princess costumes for Halloween? The next day, we went back to Macy's so I could show my other sister the gown. When I told her that I thought I'd feel like I'm wearing a Masquerade Costume, she was like, 'Dawn, gimme a break. This isn't just some party, it's your WEDDING DAY! You wear plain, A-Line & fitted dresses to everything. When else are you going to be able to wear this dress?'
So my point is.... People know you're not a monstrous hour glass figure. Everyone knows that that's just the style of the gown. Unless you are uncomfortable in it, I think you should stay with it. You look so beautiful in it. And I'm not just saying that, YOU REALLY DO. It's a really pretty gown.

You honestly look beautiful in the dress! If you're worried about the slip, then you could go without one. The dress looks fabulous in the pic, and you'll be more comfortable for a summer wedding. I think a lot of girls fall out of love with their dress, but once they start the fittings, they fall in love with it again!
