I Kinda like it cause it's always feels like a fresh start, but there have been years where i hated it!!

yes that is why i love New Year's DAY!

its my favorite bc my family celebrates it - just like Christmas. Our whole family comes over and we eat sausage and grapes for good luck! AND it is one of those holidays that no one has to split with their in laws since no one really celebrates it SO EVERYONE is all together ( which is rare )

Plus, if I wake up early enough we start it off with church ((Jan 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation)) and it is just a great way to start off the New year - although i am not going to lie, sometimes i do skip it bc waking up can be ROUGH!

NYE i could do without - i am telling you, i cant wait to watch the ball drop in my pajamas next year and be asleep by 12:30. LOL

Thats how New Years day is like in my household too. My parents cook a big dinner and everyone comes over to eat, just just xmas plus its my daddys bday. Its funny, we have pomigranites on the table for good luck, lol

my uncle's birthday is the 4th and my cousin's is the 2nd so we always have cake for them on that day too!

someone was telling me to wear yellow panties on NYE for good luck.

there are so many things - its hard to keep up with it all! we also have to be holding money at midnight!

YUP same thing, they say to have money on you at midnight for good luck...and not just in your purse but in your pocket, i put it in my bra lol and take it out soon after

i think what a lot of people are talking about ( at least what i am talking about ) is the whole 'going out' aspect of it like going to bars and clubs and getting overcharged and packed like sardines etc.

of course i love the fresh start that comes with a new year! and like i said before, this year i will spending it with close friends so i am excited about THAT

well i think they mean going out on NYE in general...and personally i am SOOOO excited to start the new year...i like NYE and every year get excited...just sometimes it falls flat compared to my expectations i guess...the last few NYE have been good though so can't complain, before that things never went as planned...other than that i do like celebrating NYE

yeah giving money on new years is another big thing in my family. My parents do not give us gifts for xmas only on NY, they give us money.

On thing we also beleive is someone special has to walk/visit into your house on New years its good luck so when my nephew comes he is the first one in. lol

oooh ok, yea im not a big fan of going out either, i never go to the city or anything like that, i do like new years in general though bc all of our close friends get together and just either go out to dinner or stay at someones house, its one of the few times that practically EVERYONE comes out, and its nice to see everyone together and having fun!

i never go to clubs in the city but last year fh and i went out for NYE in the city with friends and it was so easy it was great lol...fh and i figured that there'd be traffic in all of midtown so we took the fdr to 96th street and took it to 55th street where his friends live and we hit NO traffic at all and even found parking right in front of his friends building lol...but we bought tickets for this place, it has a restaurant so we went and ate there first and then a few blocks away the same owner has a lounge, and you needed to buy tix ahead of time to get in...it wasnt this overly packed place and wasnt a club or anything like that...so it worked out well but yeah clubs are a no-no...but then again about 3 years ago we went to a bar in times square and again worked out so well lol...if you know what to avoid, like which clubs and bars and what streets its fine i guess hahaha.
