I don't mean to pry, but...

Original post by Wintersbride

How much (estimate) do people pay for florists? It seems very expensive, I am just wondering what the norm is? I am sorry to pry...

It really depends on what your getting, how much your getting, what flowers are in season.
Its really hard to judge from one person to another unless you are getting the exact same things, the same amount, at the same time of year.

I paid 5k for my flowers but I think my cps were beautiful. I also wanted lots and lots of roses a week after valentines day so I paid the price

Well, we have a small bridal party - only MOH & BM, and the CP's are composed of candles and vases (which I am supplying) and a ring of flowers at the base, a swag over the arch for the ceremony, 9 corsages, 4 bouts, 1 throw away bo-k and some flowers for the gift table - about $600

I guess Im one of the girls that is paying more.

Each of my centerpieces is $160 I think for 80 roses. No fillers other than some small red leaves (its winter wedding). Its a low centerpiece and its just stunning makes the table look fab(and no its not too big and guests can speak to each other just fine, it was tested out) They are all red roses not the the black red ones.

We are having a sweetheart table and that will be about 250 roses and they will be pretty much sorrounding the table and cascading down.

It was very important to me to get a good florist who really makes arrangements and uses quality flowers.

Some florists I visted really just took a pot or a vase and stuffed some flowers in there and called it a day. No design no arranging no nothing. Heck I could do that if I had the chance and space to hold flowers.

And I wont even discuss the quality of roses and or flowers some use they are a step up from the ones they sell at the corner deli and supermarkets.

I dont mean to sound snobby but Im a flower girl and its important to me. However, whats more important is your budget and you should go with that. I have a budget too but flowers are very important to me and I looked for the best I could afford I didnt go with the extremely expensive either. In order to be able to do that I have cut down on other things on my budget.

You wouldnt believe how helpful Ebay has been.

We're having a small wedding and small BP. I have 6 centerpieces, 2 bq's and a bunch of corsages. All for about $400. Can't beat that !!

I feel like it is difficult to judge flowers bc each florist is different and just bc you are getting 28 cp and someone else is getting 15 for the same price it does not mean that you are getting the same thing.

About $12k I think, but we didn't do centerpieces since the hall provided them.

It all depends on your overall budget- if someone is spending $50k on a wedding then $5k is not a crazy amount. Whereas I had a very small wedding and what I spent on flowers was less than 10% of my whole budget.

You spent 12k on flowers???

Is that a typo? 12k without centerpieces?
