I don't think you're crazy. I'm worried about having one, because my MOH is worried about having to spend extra money for one...

Oh, I so don't want a shower either, but as everyone says I HAVE NO SAY IN IT--IT'S A SURPRISE! My MOH wants to do a Passion Party at the shower, but my mom is dead set against it and also I work in a Catholic school and my collegues and boss are nuns. They may think a PASSION party is about JESUS!

AHAHAHAHA

I do like the Jack and Jill idea though! My mom hates it!

For me it's not about the presents. I don't care if we don't get any presents. It doesn't matter. A bridal shower, to me is just pointless. If people want to send us gifts, just send them. I don't know. I just don't want to sit there and be annoyed. And no, a wedding is a celebration, a bridal shower is just, well, blah.

When a couple decides that they want to spend their lives together, it calls for celebration. And many times, in more than one occasion - ie. engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding, etc.
It's completely on you, if you don't want to celebrate this joyous time with people who want to do this for you. Then again, remembering some of your past posts about your mom, I kind of don't blame you (sounds like too much drama). Only you know what's best for you.

JESUS PASSION party! Some of my old Irish relatives would think the same thing.

I wasn't keen on having one either, but I know from having given two that they ARE fun for the party hosts. I LOVED planning for my friends and seeing their faces when they walked in.
