i feel bad

my parents are paying for enough with this wedding and my mom wants to plan my shower. i know its the MOH and the bridal party that do it, but they are all family and the oldest is 20 so they really cant afford it at all. i just feel bad, i dont want her to spend a lot of money at all. any ideas where she can do it and not spend an insane amount of money? i just feel guilty she has to spend more money.

my mom planned and paid for my shower too, without help from anyone else. it was something she wanted to do for me. maybe your mom feels the same way?? i did feel bad my mom had to spend more money but she saw it as her hosting the party and it was a reflection off of her, so i let her run with it.

there are definitely ways to cut costs... just have to do some research!

Well depending on the number of guests, you can always have it at someone's house/backyard. Keep it casual.

exactly. do it at home. much cheaper and it could be really cute.

most of the showers ive gone to were at houses btw.

in my experience its the mother and bp that usually do it... but it depends on the people themselves...

My mom is planning my shower too - it's supposed to be a surprise but I'm pretty sure it's in my parent's backyard and so will be pretty casual. I think that's the best way to do it if you're worried about $$.

If your mother wants to plan it, let her. Its probably something she's been waiting forever to do. My parents are also paying for the wedding, and FIL's are paying for the RD and HM but my mom and FMIL wanted to split the cost of the shower. Originally my mother was going to do it all herself, but FMIL wanted to be involved too.

You can do a backyard or house shower or even something at a small restaurant

But don't fight her on it. If she didn't want to do it, she wouldn't lol.
